When a coach says "They're/We're/I'm not making excuses" you can pretty much guarantee their next sentence is going to be listing a range of excuses.

Start of this round I was keen as on just rein and dreaded thought of Cartwright. Now I think Cartwright is better option. Only needs to average 38ish to justify a trade, AND fills a halves spot, which I need filled. So he actually services a purpose where rein just looks like a wasted trade

Why 55 average? He has 3 months in that position right? $150k would require much less than 55s, like low-mid 40s would get him to mid 600k range in that timeframe.

I counted 11 points in his scoring play leaving him on 51 still. Do you not think he will perform like last year ?

11? more than that I'd say. But regardless the kid scores tries (and misses tackles) so not much point removing either from his score IMO. The point is he looks like he is back and I think may be close to $150k undervalued. Not many keepers around at that price.... I agree with you mate, he's 100% a buy. I had him in all my pre-season teams until he got benched. I actually have a feeling he scores in the 55-60 range this year.

Last year he had a very slow start and still hit 55 - the year before 60. Reckon he's got better attacking stats in him this year. So 60 a realistic possibility in which case he's >$200k undervalued.

I am getting him next week or the week after.

He should be a keeper playing alongside Cronk all season. I considered him this week but got Bateman instead.

Yeah 47/48 average should make more than $150k from Rein I think.

I was looking at keeping him for about a month to fit in to my trade plan. S

I see where your numbers are coming from, but if he's averaging 55, surely you aren't trading him after a month....

I reckon its realistic he hits 50 on average for lets say 6 games (to be conservative). That'll see him at $700k with a pretty slow and small price rise still to come there after. I guess at that point you consider selling him, but if he's looking like still being there at round 12 you probably just hold him till then...

Lachlan Burr is not a "great player".
I think he's a solid player who'll do the role he's given but I think some people are getting caught up in fantasy stats rather than actually seeing what he's doing in the team.

He makes a lot of tackles, great. Are those tackles forcing the opposition backwards? No. Are they big tackles that are lifting his team? No.

Bunty Afoa and Lachlan Burr have played identical minutes so far this season (total/average).
Bunty has made 20m more per game, 2 more tackles and 1 fewer total missed.

Purely from the eyes, Bunty bends the line. Burr does not however Burr does have the offload which Bunty seems to have removed from his game these days. I imagine he's been directed not to do so.

Even Blair makes 4 more tackles a game than Burr with almost identical minutes. He also misses fewer. Against the Sea Eagles both Burr and Blair missed three tackles. Blair made 35 in 47mins. Burr made 19 in 45. Blair has fewer metres on average of course and far more offloads and has a try assist.
We know Blair gives away a few stupid penalties a game but honestly, this idea that Adam Blair sucks and Lachlan Burr is a gift to the Warriors bewilders me.

I look forward to Papali'i taking over the lock role in the future when Blair moves on.

Darius beat his own PB in the running trials in pre-season and said he was as fit as ever, unfortunately he forgot how to football in the off-season.

Maybe they gave someone a steeden to someone and made them run after him to get his times up.

I did bro - But I flicked Macca too so I thought I better have a back up hooker, also Mahoney looks destined for a crack at an 80 min role which, all else equal will up his numbers.

That said, the main thing is to get Rein, so if that means losing Mahoney then do it.

Last year I reckon Rein was one of those turning points in the season. I'd be interested to know the ranks of people that did and didnt get him. I've got a feeling those that didnt would have struggled a bit.

How many top 100 players didnt get Rein last year? and how many did?

Thumbs of if you did get him and you were top 100, thumbs down if you didnt.

I ended up top 150 last year. Getting rein, Mahoney and holding isaako after he had a few shitty scores then came good again was the key to my success
