Into my third season of NRL fantasy, and I regular reader of this thread, Have had a fairly good start to the year, sitting just inside the top 1000, with two 900+ scores in a row.

Currently my team is this, have 1 trade left this week after going Bird to Haas.

    Cook (C)
    Fifita, Vaughan
    Arrow, Murray, Garner
    Cleary, Morgan
    Nikora, Xerri
    RTS, CNK, Rapana

    Rein, Mahoney, Lawrie, Haas
    Burr, CTH, Ravalawa, Mikaele

    Have $198 ITB

    Options:

Option 1: Mahoney - Bateman (Centres set/Forget) 25K left over
    Option 2: Mahoney - Ponga - 143 left over
Option 3: Mikaele - Sele (or another cow)

How much more money do you think is left to squeeze out of Mahoney? I think this week could be too early to move him on?

Would take any other suggestions to strengthen my team. I don't see why everyone is down on Murray, as it stands I would still call him a keeper.

I’d be waiting for news on Fifita. If he is out for more than 4weeks he is close to being a sell. Fifita to bateman could be an option leaving some club to play with later

    (C)ook
    Fifi Lawrie
    Marty Arrow Murray
    Morgan CHT
    Bateman Nikora
    Katoa CNK Rava

    Rein Garner Capewell Haas
    Carty Xerri Staggs Brown

Really happy with all the cashies I have, cash generation this year won't be a problem.
Next week is Rava - Ponga
And when Burns is fit Katoa - Burns will occur.
Am I on the right track?
    Cheers.

Maybe the 74 minutes was an outlier due to injury. I guess he plays RD 12 so should be a hold till then.

He's averaging 48, even including last week's lower effort. Sure there are a couple of guys averaging better who would be better, but is it worth spending a trade to swap to them at the moment?

I'm trading Bird. He's pissed me off this week and he'll probably come good, but if you have eg Bateman/Nikora there's not much point in having 470k on the EMG that may or may not make another 100k on an optimistic 40 average over the next couple of months. There are quicker ways to make money.
Fair point, he has been trash lately. Cashing him out could potentially be a better option and have the bird money ITB rather than him lose 20k this week

But seriously as well as we've been defending our edges are still vulnerable and we've conceded a few tb's and lb's, it's just been a bit of luck (forward passes, drops over the line etc) combined with grity scramble and cover that's kept our points concede low. I wouldn't count out a back just cause they are playing us

Just did some math and this is my thinking.

    Right now
    Ponga = $648K
    Hughes = $548K
    100K difference

    This week predicted scores
    Ponga 55 = $668K
    Hughes 43 = $569K
99K Difference plus if hughes were to score less against Roosters and Ponga more against Titans that gap is even bigger. So if i sell this week I am getting a WFB/HLF Keeper and theoretically saving money?

EDIT: Maybe I skip Twal and try bring him in after Rd 12 but before RD 16.

THIS! Xerri could've scored a hatrick yesterday if he didn't eat a tub of butter with his hands before the game.

Unsure why people keep saying 4 or 6 weeks out, Fifita said he is hopeful of playing this week (though one would think the coach would not risk him).

No Andrew Fifita (hamstring) for @Cronulla_Sharks field session today, Paul Gallen (ribs) in no contact bib.

Wade Graham (ACL) back running with the team and Matt Moylan targeting round 10 to return from what would be an eight-week hamstring injury

Yeah pretty standard from him regardless of where he plays. I saw a few good summaries of him over on the gh that help explain it a bit I think, so to borrow from them:
One was that he always plays full bore, all out. You can see this in things like his kick chase and the hits he puts on. Unfortunately for fantasy this is leading to penalties in some cases or a "missed tackle" because he's not focused on finishing th e bloke so much as placing pressure on him and someone else cleaning him up. Can't see this changing, it's just how he plays, all effort kinda guy a bit like jrey.
Another was that he looks rushed at the moment, the few times he's taken his time a bit more he's done some great bombs, long distance kicks and cut outs. He was a bit like this when he first started at FB, so potentially this part does improve as he settles, though they could be a whole, possibly not even this year.
I picked him because I know he loves defense, so was happy to take a punt knowing he'd have a decent base, but we have been winning and he's yet to put up anything huge so at best I'd say he's tempting but far from must have and if I didn't already have him I'd probably not take the risk myself with the current context.

nrlphysio said up to 6 weeks out depending on grade, and I think that is the original source of the longer timeframe.

Halves are usually a position you sure up later isn't it? He's on my radar but I've got Munster and Morgan doing the work so unless I'm upgrading I'm wasting my time.

I wasn't really bagging him. Have been considering bringing him in, 40 seems a pretty solid base for him, but yeah, the negatives from playing hard footy make it a tough sell.

He will probably bust out an 80 soon, when it all comes together for him, hopefully not against the Broncos. Embarassed

nrlphysio replying to a tweet saying even the most minor of strains is tough getting back in 7 days. More likely 14-21 days.
