Its a balance and / or a patience game. We ultimately gotta be careful we don't scare people from posting. We cannot expect everyone to read every page of these threads, they fly along at times. I feel kinda naughty as i largely pushed the Sele thing being one of his owners on this site. Here is my shot across the bow though - a player like Sele who is owned less, it doesn't take long for people to get the shites with him being the focus for a while. Whereas Host n' Lawrie type marathon sessions can take a while b4 anyone snaps.

Way to many words to the Sele cause right here, but just some fun reading for the cranky pants brigade.

I'm happy with my team no bateman tho. Hughes>C.Smith when he drops below 800k currently 819k with 70+ BE. Could get keeper half but happy with Morgan/CHT atm.

We have tried at various times splitting out topics into their own threads. Weekly game threads in particular, but they don't get much traction. A lot of people just read the main fantasy thread and chuck everything in there.
Especially if reading on mobile its easier to just refresh the same thread rather than hop between the game thread/fantasy thread/Sele thread.

One thing I have found really good this year is the assistant coach tab. Over the years I've always liked Booze and his tracking/thought process as the original but its good to go look at others teams posted and where peoples heads are at this year like Verbal and MTB. I'd love to have one for Liverpool Bulldog or Rabbit just for something different but while on topic just a quick thanks to those guys for taking the time weekly to put something together. Always a good read even if I'm not always posting.

Im running with more of a bog standard crew:
    Cook (c)
    Fifita Taupau
    Arrow Murray Garner
    Reynolds CHT
    Batman Nikoraman
    Teddy Ponga CNK

Yes, deliberately running with a few PODs that look likely, along with getting a number of quality players in for each bye in an effort to close the gap.

Using the trades to finance the strength in the rest of the team. Even if Fifita plays this week, he likely gets an early shower again. Going Fifita > Twal clears $170k for similar scores and the extra cash got me James this week, at the cost of just removing Ravalawa. If James is going to go big any time this season it should be the next couple of weeks with Wallace out.

Will probably end up trading Arrow too at some point, for other "must haves" that don't play origin to get the team stacked for both bye rounds, most likely goes for a low cost Lolo

Swap tolman for Vaughan, teddy for RTS, Xerri for Mahoney and you’d have the DILIGAFS

This goes against the grain but if you pull it off and end the season higher than most then I guess you can say "Told you so".

In saying that, I think trading Cook and Fifita and soon Arrow this early in the season is crazy but you do you.

Why didn't you just stack your team with cows and potential mid rangers that will do good and keep money on hand going into the season? Trading out the best players in the game of fantasy week after week seems very odd. Good luck to you, you're doing better than me so I can't judge.

I think James might be a little trap as Fotuaika was suspended last week (although he is compensated for the next 2 weeks with Wallace suspended) and Boyd returns this week

Also is 8TBs from a prop like James sustainable (3 TBs in other 4 games, 1 each in other games at prop) - 67MT from Panthers is almost double what highest was before R5 this season (Eels 38MT was highest)

Potential for origin also possibly (18th man last year, RCG in poor form, JDB suspended so Vaughan likely elevated to starting team) so R12 overrated

Happy to be proven wrong though and good luck to you mattNZ for going with a completely different team to the cookie cutter team on this site

Really hard to move up by going the same as everyone ahead of you.

James started the season at 2RF and pricing dropped accordingly. If James does great from here and gets picked for origin, it would be bitter-sweet. Both he and Twal look like great targets though and if they perform, will both be $800k soon enough, coming off big scores, with low BEs. James started the season just below $800k and is looking to be in form now that he is back in his correct role. If he isn't picked for Origin, he will likely be my round 12 captain, with both Wallace and Arrow out, should get close to 80 minutes and a great score.

I have a few trade in targets coming up but need the current cashies to increase in value first before upgrading. There are 2 ways to get the under valued guns in, 1) cash out your cows too early, or 2) trade out guns that are already fully priced, are unlikely to outperform their cost and don't play the first bye.
