Today just feels special. Woke up feeling marvellous from Zesty Thursday.

Fifi, Nikora, Xerri all in the 17.
Gained a tip in the cash tipping comp.
$225 return for "THE SEND" penalty try.
Day off so now about to open a Incognito window and down some beers.

    Happy Easter everyone. Beating Heart

Thinking Haas.  Although I'm trading Bird to Haas.  Is that worth it if I'm not even going to play him?

I would still do the trade for cash generation.

He could. Though Bird 45 average over next 3 rounds gives 51k while Haas 30 avg for next 3 games gives 120k. Imagine if Haas does what people are expecting him to do.

I think I will do the trade anyway. Sitting out the right person is a lottery.

And on a completely non-fantasy related note, how good are old-fashioned road-trips?! Just spent the last couple of weeks driving the family around 5000km in a loop through NSW. Stayed in the underground motel in White Cliffs, visited Broken Hill and Mildura, went to Mungo National Park, wineries in the Riverina, did the tourist stuff in Canberra and the Blue Mountains. Overseas holidays are awesome, but there's something great about just getting in the car and driving to somewhere you've never been.

Sounds awesome @Soylenygreen did u have it heavily planned or wing it ?

Had to be in a couple of places at set times (my wife ran her first marathon last weekend in Canberra), but other than that just went where we wanted.

I had originally brought in RTS as a trade this week, in order to push Ponga up into the halves.
But with Cleary looking ripe for the tradein at lockout, I don't really need Ponga in my halves and now it looks like having RTS will push CNK outside the 17 altogether.

It seems obvious that I don't actually need RTS, and he would make a better post-R12 upgrade for CNK.
So why am I so reluctant to reverse and bank the trade?

Is it because RTS is getting a banner?

With Xerris effort last night i feel I can miss CHT now and just grab Ponga and that's WFB sorted for the time being:)

Also how good was the starting whistle last night, meant there was definitely no way back for Edwards

Cap'n Ranta wrote:Just while the loop talk isn't fully dead I know it makes people upset because there is such an immediate reward with little to no risk if a dart throw type player bombs. It definitely feels unfair compared to the past where the lowest AE rule gave rewards (and despair) to those who dare but it does come at a cost. And I don't even mean the occasional time where the good looking loop backfires. The long term damage will only become apparent in the coming weeks but I'll use my team as an example.

    Burns to Xerri (Rd 4)
    - This gave me 190k immediately and 114k in price rises after this week. Haven't ever played Xerri

    Keighran to Carty (Rd 4)
    - This gave me 11k immediately and 65k in rises so far

    Brown to CHT (Rd 5)
    - This gave me 70k immediately and 62k in rises so far
    - I did use brown in week 4 to loop Carty and Bird and avoided Birds score. I want to say I likely would have done this anyway if I had no loop but I had 3 injuries in a week so there was no need to risk not having a shot at Bird and picking up his huge score.

So all up that's 502k plus whatever Carty and CHT get me this weekend. I just can't see how any amount of looping is going to make up for that sort of difference in the next few weeks....... Now I realise people wont have all 3 but even killing one spot for looping instead of getting Carty is 100k in 3 weeks. That's almost 7 points of value that'll I'll have per week for the rest of the season over someone who kept a red dot on their roster. Looping might net you 20 points this week but I can't advise people building their teams holding these non cash making guys just to maybe get the best of Xerri/Burr or Lawrie on any given week (call it a +15). Later when we have all made our money then I'm all over it but just pointing out you are hurting far more than helping at this point by keeping red dots in your team.

TLDR: If you are looping now you're taking a huge risk and personally I think chasing a short term high. For every Burns, Brown or Keighran you hold it limits your long term potential for 20 points a week at best. Enjoy the Xerri points this week though Smile

All valid points. My counter argument to this is by everyone jumping off Burns/Brown while they're not losing money (or gaining any) is when they come back they're awkwardly priced for cows and will probably be avoided. This will give me great cash flow since I can't milk every cow all at once. The looping is a by product of my decision to hold onto two cows who will continue to make money. Your equation works well but we don't know what other money the cows you've traded will make so all the info isn't finished. It may look good to you now but it may not in the end.. Likewise for myself.

I was in a similar position and gave Teddy the miss to chase the cash over points. My trades have been identical with Xerri instead of Teddy

    Who misses the team lads?

    Lawrie, Gillett, Tolman, Garner, Haas?

Arrow, Bateman (c), Murray locked in picks.

looping is over-rated, did it for the first time last week when i took Capewell out and put in Brown to have a look at CHT's score, took his 42 and then watched Capewell score 60 in my EMG... serves me fucking right.

Did think about delaying Ponga for a week, and playing Sivo this week. We'll see how that decision went over the next few days
