They usually release those guys for the weekends games though. I think it's probably academic as Hunt should get the gig.

Pretty sure it would be Hunt but Mahoney surely has to be a chance for the bench now.

Asking Hunt to go the full 80 at Hooker for a full series is a very tough ask though. Maybe if Josh McGuire is fit, he might play out the opening 20 or something. If he isn't Mahoney or Granville playing isn't out of the question.

Macca will probably still push for Origin 1 tbh. Players are coming back from injury quicker and quicker it seems, depending on the type of injury of course.

Ponga... but he didn’t connect and so just got away with a fine!

But seriously I’d assume Tohu or Hiku.

Thinking of just going Bateman and CHT to Dearden and CS9 leaving me with this:

    19 trades 174k bank

    Cook
    Fifita Tolman
    Murray Taupau Arrow
    ARey Ponga
    Nikora Xerri
    Hughes CNK Sivo

    Smith
    Mahoney
    Rein
    Haas

    Lawrie
    Whitbread
    Dearden
    Brown

Will ride it out with Xerri til Burns comes back, will trade out Drown for him if he isn’t back yet. Hughes needs to be upgraded also but not urgent immediately. Thoughts?

Depends who you name at the utility tbh. If he doesn't nab a CTR spot i think Morgan would be capable at filling in at hooker for a bit. Hasnt Mbye played a little of hooker at some stage as well? I know I'm not naming blokes likely to forever change the way hooker is played or anything.

Via Storm Site - Melbourne Storm has named an unchanged 21-man squad to face the Parramatta Eels in Brisbane during the NRL's inaugural Magic Round on Saturday.

I'd almost take Mahoney over Granville. FAC has copped a bit of shit this year but Granville has been rubbish for years.

Granville is struggling at the Cowboys, would the Maroons really go to him (I guess they might if they feel they have no other option)

100%. Granville's service is terrible and his scoots much less threatening than 2015 which was a long time ago. Mahoney on the other hand seems to go up another gear every bloody week. I'd probably take Hunt though.
