Any chance that Isaako named at #18 is actually a late switch to fullback, Boyd wing, Shibasaki bench :RapanaPumped:

I don't think Shibasaki would have ever played wing.. I thought Kennar would of been pretty close to getting a run on wing if we needed a replacement.

I'll see what happens this round with the new cows. I'm likely to pick up Young next week if he goes ok

Grabbing Turpin this week because his JS is probably the best, although I’m a bit weary of him only being around for 3-4 weeks with maccas recovery being normally good. Can go Garner/Hughes in a straight swap next week so unless another cow really looks like making some good money I’ll save a trade

Dearden should be a safe bet, post-game last week Seibold said he's the best half at the club, unless he suddenly starts stinking the joint up, he'll be around long term.

Turpin isn't a sure thing, i keep seeing it said that we've got nobody else, but I think it's relevant to note that Corey Paix, who's named in the 18-21, has spent time at hooker, most notably for the QLD U-18's last year, could be given a shot if Turpin isn't up to scratch.

I'm pretty sure he's always been a halfback though. Last year the "talk" about our young halves coming through was around Tanah Boyd and Paix. I think last year they just shoe-horned him into hooker, because they had too many halves to fit into that rep side.

Could well be wrong. He has played all season in Q Cup at halfback though.

    I’m bagging Turpin for 1 TA, 1 LB, 35+ tackle, 3 TB,s and 40+ mg, 50+ km Smile last 4 years he has averaged around 50km’s a game, 2015 he averaged 150ish.

wackos posted last night that Herbert was set to be the gk so that's got to be worth an extra 4-8 points. The thing with Macca is his injury history shows he's a quick healer. Dearden probably is the safest.

he's definitely a half by trade, just thought it worth noting that there could be a Plan C if Plan B falls through, especially given the timing of his first appearance in the extended reserves, and the fact that SOS is already in there, i don't think it makes a lot of sense to carry two halves in the 21.

Already have Dearden, plus I’m a gambling man and even with GK a 60+ minute hooker should get 40+. Also signs are pointing towards Broncs wanting to push turps for the 80 as we know Seibold likes an 80 minute hooker.

Thinking of running Lomax in my Centres over Xerri. I feel dragons are in for a big one against warriors and Lomax could nab an extra 8 points of GK... mind you same think could be said about sharks against Titans.

There has been 86 times in 2019 that a starting hooker has played more than 65 minutes.

On 14 occasions they have scored less than 40. Radley 3 times, Hodgson 3 times, and a Panthers hooker 3 times.

The average of ONLY those 14, is 34 pts.

So what you’re saying is 72 out of 86 occasions a hooker playing 65 minutes or more will score more than 40. I like those odds.

    Correct.

I could tell you the average for all 86 times, but its obviously heavily distorted by the gun hookers. (its 53)

Looking at the discussion in the community team, I think I'm coming around to picking Young over Dearden

If Young averages 30 (low end for a starting 2RF???) over next 3 he gains 123k (and then plays R12) whereas if Dearden averages 35 (possibly average to high end for a non-dominant rookie HLF???) over next 3 he gains 125k but then doesn't play R12. Also 20k cheaper and lower BE for this week (but I've just been burnt by Whitbread picking a FWD with a fair bit of competition)

Only problem for my team specifically is that I'd be going without HLF coverage in the EMG the way my team is set up for an extended period, whereas if I pick Dearden I can rectify my no 2RF cover by getting Lolo next week for Bateman
