I don’t like the idea of extra trades, but this way of doing it would add an extra dimension to it.White Lightning wrote:Milchy wrote:

I very much like that concept as I always burn through my trades every year haha but instead of a straight 40 point loss imo it's better you pay for their average. You buy player a who's averaging 60 then you're charged 60 points.

Yeah, same with me mate. I only checked this week. If I count Murray and Mahoney I have 5. I do believe BHunt will be there before a rookie Hooker so probs should have counted him as the 4th.
The Bye Planning used to be my main weapon as well. Made some crazy calls and sideways trades, always seemed to pay off by the end of the bye period. Became a real addiction to see how much ground I could make up between Rounds 12 and 18/19 each year.
I used to start with bye relevant plonkers and squirrel away trades like a bastard over the first third of the season so I could pounce with impunity come bye time but smaller squads have really emphasised the importance of picking up the right cows early and ditching non productive squad members ruthlessly. I'll be interested to see how I finish this year relative to last year
I hope it's not like my EPL exploits where the more info I have the worse my decisions become!!!!

I was an avid bye planner in previous years, but I wouldn't say it was my main weapon as I never made it into the top 1000. There's a reason I'm in L51
This year I've thrown bye planning out of the window and I'm in the top 100
Coincidence? Or just plain luck?

Same here, even after my Captaincy spiel last week about picking and sticking. I’ve C’d Cook all year, but this is kind of a unique situation.
Fifi's llast two games against the Titans he got 47 and 53. Not sure why, you'd think he'd rip through them.

40 overall points? Even 100... If so, that’d basically mean unlimited trades for anyone just in it for the H2H leagues.
If I understand correctly.

Just realised I have 6 + Captain in tonight's game. Then either 1 or 2 players in every other game for the weekend

In that case, Arrow is your captain this week.
His last 2 scores against the Sharks are 72 and 81

Well people who play H2H leagues should bite the bullet and play draft comps. Sharing players in a H2H competition is craziness and can't believe so many people enjoy it, especially as draft options are so prevalent now.
Not just specifically for my suggestion above, but in general, I'd hate for a good suggestion for the overall fantasy comp get knocked back because of its effect on H2H comps
But yes, if you only cared about H2H then you could designate a few weeks as effective wildcards (but not every week, you'd still need to win enough games to make the finals)

In last year's game where Fifita scored 47, Ryan James and Jarrod Wallace both played and made a combined 80 tackles.
Both played again this year, making 49 tackles combined.
Might have an easier time with them missing.
I'm tossing up between Fifita and Ponga.
Edit: Oops Wallace is back.

I'm forcing myself to attend the party for next few weeks by bringing in Young. Up against Nikora, might be able to run at Flanagan then

Interesting in theorey but would have a few issues in implementing
Bring in the 60 point player for your first trade, and spend the points on Turpin (averaging 0) for your 2nd.
Or say they work out the most expensive player counts as the extra trade (would you trust them to implement that with the possibility of rolling lockout and reversing trades), spend a week bringing in cashies like Young, Turpin for cheap, and use the funds next week for the big money upgrades
And what if Farah scored his 8 in round 1? Could you bring him in for 8 points? bring on the round 1 injuries

Predicting a player's score by looking at previous performances against a team when the colleagues were different, the opponents were different, the conditions different, the game texture different, the bounce of the ball different is one of the worst metrics for choosing a captain.
Tldr I've captained Fifita.

I am there and I am thinking a conservative 35 points gets scored this week. With a BE of 25 I think the party ends after Round 12.

Pretty sure Xerri runs on the right side of the field so will be up against Peachey.
