Likely for me, its Mahoney because I only have Rein, Carty, Hodgson, Young, Sivo and Burns Embarassed for R12

I'll have 10 max and that's after plans to get Lolo and A-Rey in plus holding people longer than I probably should like Corey Allan.

I just don't see myself getting anymore without trading in non-keepers.

I'm in the 'Batman Rd8 Captain's Club' after moving it off Fifi for the first time last week. Back it goes, however, I do like the Ponga(c) and Arrow(c) calls..

Don’t want to get stuck on one bye round but down to ~20 trades I think the only non bye players you should entertain are guns/keepers.

Farah, Cam Smith even lesser extent Pearce are all reasonable moves in addition to any guns you’re late to (Cook, Ponga, Teddy). Otherwise would recommend Young,

The ultimates right now are picks like Tlolo or Martin who give you both points and a bye player.

If cash and building value remains your priority then might as well get yourself some money AND an extra player in 3 weeks time... Young looks the pick of them. OR...

This has been my mindset during this period. It’s why I’m leaning towards Young

Just ref byes, unless you have a lot of trades (upwards of 24), I don't see much value in planning for round 12. Hardly any out and out guns which means you're trading them in and out for one score. If you get a round 16 fun that doesn't play origin, you get all their remaining scores minus one round. Lolo, ARey, Mahoney and Taupau seem the only reliable options. JFH and Kikau could end up being the in then out players

I'm just concerned with Young's JS.  Will Havilli and Soli stay on the bench come game day? Just seems a bit far fetched that he'll just keep the spot.  I didn't see rhat game though, was he any good?

Next week CHT and Morgan become Taumololo

I'm aiming for 12, and will probably doing 2 trades for round 11 + 4 trades for round 12  to add the extras.
Meanwhile I'm keeping an eye out for cows that play round 12, but it's slim pickings and I'm a bit wary after my brilliant Whitbread pick  Bang

I like the strategy mate. Whitbread probably gets game time 30 points or so in 12 so he's worth holding till then.

Young for me this week, Liam Martin next week (if he gets the start).

Someone else will pop up too closer to the time in terms of cash outs. Several teams with big gaps due to Origin so 4 trades prior to 12 should easily grab you an extra 4 for the round.

The big call for me is whether or not there are any other more expensive guys worth taking the punt on: There's some potential low end guns but no-one fills me with confidence right now, e.g. Martin, Kikau, JFH, etc.

Yeah I agree with this 100% but seems the majority of the forum does not (based on the forum team voting). Very interesting IMO.

Surely most likely change is Simonsson dropping out and another forward coming in.

Don't think it's been posted yet, but Hudson Young is averaging 77 fantasy points in Canterbury Cup this year. Helped by the fact he's scored 6 tries in his 3 games so far, which is clearly unsustainable
Averaging over 8 TBs a game (but without watching the game, it could just be people hanging off him when he scores, rather than actual TBs)

Some rare good news on the injury front for Manly fans.

Injuries to Lachie Croker (hamstring) and Addin Fonua-Blake (knee) aren't as bad as first thought.

Won't play against Brisbane on Friday but are a chance of lining up against Cronulla next Sunday.

I understand Croker was actually hoping to play this week, but they held him out just as a precaution. He will be back next week!

This is essentially a repost, and applies to a different platform, but is VSDT fantasy last year, the difference between 1st and 2nd was bye round planning. 1st Netted 150 points on the field and then won by <50. It can make a massive difference, but you 100% need some luck on your side too.

On the flip side, if you dont plan for the byes, it will hurt IMO. We have enough trades to use some for byes, and there is added benefit of bringing in round 12 cash outs which Ive discussed on the forum team page. That said, you of course dont want to bust your team for the sake of the bye round, but I do think it can be one of the bases for making trade calls between now and 12.

Those stats, while clearly not indicative of how he's gonna go in first grade are important though. Shows he's got a nose for the try line and of course he did score a try last week in first grade too.
