Yeah, somewhere in the middle to be honest. I have a general strategy/plan but I'm not committed to it. Depending what I do with my second trade I'm going into round 12 with 9/10 players. Will grab Burns if hes back in time for Xerri.

Post round 12, will grab Smith and possibly Farah (if Liddle doesn't ruin his scores). Might pick up Matterson for a sneaky sideways trade and a POD. And run into 16 with 10/11 players. Then grab Teddy and DCE and ride it home. But really feeling the pinch to grab a half now, or even Teddy and run Ponga at half. So who knows if I'll stick to any of that.

If I was in your position I would be trying for 14-15 for each bye round
There isn’t a whole lot of great options for round 12 but you could put some decent points on before burning trades to get the round 17 keepers
You have always been like me in regards notorious Bye planners with sidewaysitis. It’s worked for us magnificently in the past and I am even considering Tatola due to said affliction  Vomit

But is 14–15 for both Byes doable and still having 6 or so trades left for the run home?

He can be traded by then and Dearden is a back up for a back up.

    Byes or Final 17?

    Rein
    Fifita, Tolman
    Arrow, Murray, Kikau
    ARey, Morgan
    Nikora, Capewell
    Ponga, Teddy, CNK

    Gillett, Haas, Lawrie, Cartwright
    Xerri, Sivo, Brown, Whitbread

21 trades left. No idea what to do from a rank of 9k

Have you worked out your current Byes numbers? I think that will help with the decision. Nice to have  banked 3 trades, that will help if you decide to Bye plan.

Team after trades this week: 19 trades left now and went from $495k salary cap to $29k after going Morgan and Ogden to Lolo and Reynolds.

    Cook
    Fifita, Taupau
    Taumalolo, Arrow, Murray
    Reynolds, Pearce
    Nikora, Xerri
    Tedesco, Ponga, CNK

    Mahoney, Rein, Haas, Lawrie
    Young, Lomax, Garrick, Host

Next bits of business is to upgrade my second centre spot, upgrade Lawrie and then improve my crappy emergencies.

Well from that list I have 8 players pre trades.

Rein, Tolman, Kikau, ARey, CNK, Cartwright, Sivo, Whitbread.
Of those ARey could play Origin and Whitbread might not even be named. So 6 at worst case.

That still doesn't help my decisions.

My "forget about bye planning" team pending TLT and more sensible judgement kicking in. Lawrie to Young, Morgan to Cook 66k left over.

    Cook
    Tolman, Fifita
    Arrow, Murray, Taupau
    Flanagan, Moses
    Xerri, Nikora
    CNK, Ponga, Teddy

    Haas, Smith, Farah, Rein

    Young, Sivo, Allan, CHT

Dearden can wait another week and CHT won't lose any cash at the least.

Definitely going to get Young or Martin this week and bring in Lolo. Can’t decide which one of the rookies though. Both have cases. They both will play 12, both good scorers in fantasy but both playing for a spot ? Looks like Martin has the jump on Sele and Yeo out for a bit. Kikau always injured or getting injured. Young in front of Murchie, L.Bateman, Horsey and Guler and playing well. Leaning towards Young, but could easily be swayed.

I don’t think you can win this comp by playing cautiously and having a large number of trades for the run home. Most past winners have had 2-3 trades left post origin and skated by with a strong 18+ a chunk of luck

    Maybe both??

    Host or Lawrie?

We haven’t had the end of season injury run for the last 3 or so years so you’re right. That’s where we all have to make up our minds I guess as we can’t prefict the future.

My only hope of a decent finish is having the spare trades so working towards that this year I think.

Well that opens up more trade options. Brown, Whitbread. Xerri, Sivo nearly peaked

    What looks better:

    Halfs: Arey, ponga
    Wfb: teddy, rts, cnk

    Itb: 60k

    Or

    Halfs: arey, Wighton
    Wfb: rts, ponga, cnk

    Itb:126k

Note: the 126k I hope would be enough to go lawrie to tolo in a single trade next week.

Yeah, I was going to get Kapow in this week, but will change it to RTS. This means I'll have Ponga, RTS, and Teddy with CNK as cover. Getting closer to the 17.
I'll probably get Kapow in a bit closer to Origin.

    Current team

    Rein
    Fifita Haas
    Arrow(c) Murray Taumalolo
    Munster Arey
    Nikora Capewell
    RTS Teddy Ponga

    Twal, Mahoney, Lawrie, CNK
    Dearden, Xerri, Whitbread, Dbrown

Kapow not hitting his straps yet. Might hold off and grab a little closer to Origin or when he imrpoves. I have Haas, Tolman and Fifi who are servicing me fine up there. Might reevaluate my approach this week

Edit: just caught up. Gone for a week. I’ll toss a coin.
