Does the forum have an opinion on trading out certain origin players before rd12? Either players who will miss games or have lower scores/minutes.

For example: Arrow. From memory last year he had a stint of bad scorers/lower minutes in between origin and for a few weeks after. Do we think that trend will happen again? And is it worth trading him out?

Are there any other players with similar questions that we could look to trade out and get a leg up over the origin period?

I'm having a good think about it. I might even ditch one or two this week depending on news (and how many gins I've had)

It's an option based on each individual team. On the whole it seems like people have traded more heavily this year than in years past leaving less options for sideways bye planning. It could be a masterstroke or you could leave yourself short on trades to get your best 18 post origin.
Imo if you're going to do it go with big guns so that you're getting the most cash value out of your trades.

Moses is a good option but it all depends if Eels are still in the hunt for playoff position. Yes, you can argue that Moses still getting reasonable scores in loses but if they keep losing then the coach will have to come up with a different game plan. Right now opposition has to worry about Moses & Gutho when under attach with Fergo & Jennings having having one-off good games.

Cotric is a waste of Trade IMO.

Masters is a reasonable trade if you are not going to trade gain in centres to get Bateman.

Thanks for the response. Bateman will be on the radar after he is a game or 2 back into it (large BE gives a bit of wait and see).

Cotric to centre is what sparks my interest, should get more ball and more base stats, and well under $450k. I'll be watching him with interest this weekend for sure.

Im bringing him in for Brown this week. Gets great base stats and has attacking stats in him.

My brother said to me the other day us Kiwis always get stuck into the Warriors when they lose but there's 3-4 teams that are worse than the Warriors.

Last year I traded Arrow to Mau as in theory I would have got more points by doing this trade specially as I intended to pick Arrow back later( trades permitting).

Mau played rnd 13 and wasn't named for rnd 14, then played 15 and got injured again. Traded to Tapine, who gave me two scores of 39 before getting injured so traded to Farah.

I ended up with rank 70 overall so its one of the big 'what ifs' for me if I had one or two extra trades.

In short, don't break something that ain't broken is my game plan this year.

In my team I have these origin players - Cook, Haas, Murray, Arrow, Munster, Cleary (maybe), A. Reynolds (maybe), Ponga & Tedesco.
I would consider selling Arrow who seems to have his game time managed over the origin period & the others I would probably keep but maybe Cleary if he plays origin, same with A. Reynolds. Munster does piss me off at times because when I need him to score large in my h2h's he doesn't but when the pressure is off & I don't need to rely on him he goes large.

Actually in round 13 I would have no problem removing all 3 of Munster, Cleary & A. Reynolds & replacing them with Pearce, C. Walker & DCE.

I won't buy Walker ever, yeah it's great when he scores tries. But it dries up and in a bad bad way

I feel like Munster has a higher likelihood than those to be the 2nd gun HLF alongside DCE so I can't really see the appeal in that trade. I fancy having Munster as my ending HLF as he has the potential to go massive with a solid base of around 40-45 and then having a stable HLF like DCE or ARey if I run out of trades who will consistently give you around 50 points without much fluctuation

Not sure if mentioned but Storm are shopping Joe Stimson and Bulldogs are keen on him. KBrom must've shown enough this year to warrant that spot his own.

Only have 7 RD 12 players (not inc cook, murray and arrow). How is everyone tracking? Strategically, I hope alot of team panic and burn trades just for rd 12 leaving the doors open for me to catch up in rd 16

Taumalolo, Taupau, Rein, Mahoney, CNK, Young, Martin, Garrick
    Cook, Murray, Arrow, Morgan (Origin)

I'll be trading Morgan to Reynolds/Cleary next week so that gives me 9. I'll be looking to have 11/12 players I think. Still hoping Murray isn't named for Origin.

Got 8 before trades (CNK, Garrick, Taumalolo, Mahoney, Rein, Tolman, Carty, Young) and will bring in Taupau this week. Not including Arrow, Murray (IMO certainties for Origin, and ARey who is likely)

The funding move will depend on TLT but may be Martin for 10th player (or Mann/Dearden)

Why do people think Murray will play Origin.

As far as I can see the incumbent starters in the Forwards, TSims & Crichton are safe so that leaves Peachy & JDB's place  which has to be Walker and Haas/TPJ. Anyone sees it differently?

I reckon he was probably guaranteed until Haas' last 2 weeks but it's between him and Haas now for a spot. Apparently he can play hooker so is kind of a utility. He's got an extremely quick PTB as well, would be massive for Origin, with Cook + Teddy + whoever in HLFs running off that

Fantasy wise it'd be nice if he didn't play Origin, extra R12 player
