You're right, Boult stepping on the boundary was the first time that game broke me. We had it in the bag if he stays inside the rope/throws it to himself or Guppy. We still could've/should've won it without the bat-of-God moment. There are a number of 'what ifs' there near the end.

There were a number of moments that we could've played better but also a number of moments of briliance without which we would never have been in the race.

That statement there is perfect and how cricket works. The ups and downs of a game that can last 5 hours plus. Our ups couldn't quite outweigh the downs. That's why we love the game.

It's crazy how I've been going through the grief stages after the game. Definitely had the anger.
I think I'm at the bargaining stage at the moment ("I can accept the loss as long as we win the Rugby World Cup and America's Cup")

All good, but I'll qualify my statement a bit.

One of the main issues I have with NZ sport is the excessive negativity that all too often comes to the fore. I just cant really understand why you would feel that way given how the tournament and that game unfolded? Unless its still pure raw emotion dictating your thoughts still.

Agreed the Boult catch / 6 was a brain fade but it was one single moment in a game full of many. There were many things our guys did right and wrong in that game and many instances of luck/bad luck too. To focus on any one of those misses the big picture.

My feelings on the game for what its worth is that they were incredibly unlucky not to be the team with the trophy and that their performance exceeded expectations.
