Also 6pm Sunday over 2pm Sunday arvo is death for Wollongong crowds. I'd travel back down for an arvo game, probably bring the entire family, but no way am I travelling on a school night. I reckon a lot of the Sydney fans are the same. I know TV is king, but they could put more slightly more thought into stuff like that.

I could be wrong.. but I don't think we've played down in the gong since 2008. Both teams good at being March premiers.. so should be a good game!

Because he's not as good as his fantasy scores suggest.

He won't be cheap enough to be a proper cash cow, and won't be a keeper FB.

I doubt he'll fail as badly as Edwards/Holland did, but I suspect he will be a disappointment (at least relative to his ownership, which will be massive)

I was on a similar page at the 9's

While I think he will be so popular you can't not have him in case he ends your season in week 1, I don't think he will come close to what people are expecting

He averaged 62.6 from his 8 games when playing 80 minutes

    Priced at 38.2

I personally can’t see any downside

The downside is if he scores less than 38.2. The trap is you don't see it. Nek minit Dedwards & Holland.

How many WFBs in the past 10 years have sustained an average over 60?

Do you think Papenhuyzen is good enough to do that

Last season Tedesco, Milford and RTS were the only WFBs to average over 50.

Another 4 got between 45 and 50 (Nofoaluma, Ponga, Wighton, TTrbojevic)

Papenhuyzen has to be top tier to be worth it. For a guy who's only real asset is that he's pretty quick, I just don't know how he'll go for a whole year.

As MS said, he'll be so popular that you'll probably have to start with him just in case he does go boom, but I will be readying myself for disappointment.

Surely you're not expecting Papenhuyzen to average 60+ (averaged 68 when starting FB), same as you probably won't be expecting Friend to average 77 (adjusted average in small sample excluding injury affected games)

But the fact Friend is priced at 43.2 and Papenhuyzen priced at 38.2 probably means you're going to pick them because they can go 10+ points over their pricing

I can see Papenhuyzen within 45-50 range and potentially higher and Friend around 53-55 if his mins aren't affected by Verrills. Papenhuyzen averages around 250m as starting FB (drops to around 230 including finals) so has a solid base to work with

There don't look to be any standout players that will dud at the minute because of loads of unknowns but players like Brimson/Lomax playing for weaker teams could suffer (note I have all these players in my early 2020 draft)

If I had to take a guess, I reckon Paps will probably be a 40 to 45 average. He may go lower, but even if he stinks it up, its hard to imagine him having an Edwards to start the year. Playing for the Storm helps too. A bit like Hughes, didn't go boom, but wasn't that bad either.

He will definitely be studied by opposing teams over the off season, so it will be interesting to see if he is allowed as much freedom next season. There will be tip sheets on him this year

Melbourne Storm are the only NRL team whose name doesn't end with 'S'.

Wests Tigers are the only NRL team with the same amount of wins in 2019 as letters in their name.

12/16 teams have the same bye weekends as 2019...

Raiders and Panthers have moved back to R16 bye
Dragons and Knights have moved up to R12 bye

Question for all - how much bye planning do you do? I didn’t even consider it until about R9, this is mostly because I didn’t consider many things when selecting my team then double trading every week to fix it. But I’m not sure it would’ve helped much anyway.
