Croft interests me but it might be my Broncos bias and hope that he turns out to be a fantastic signing that is clouding my judgement.

Priced at 37, he is someone that could easily average upwards of 45 if things click for the Broncos and he performs as we hope. It would appear as though he has been handed complete control of the side in an organisational capacity. What will be interesting is just how many kick meters he picks up.. if Milford has really been relieved of all organising duties then Croft should take a large majority of long kicks.

So, base points.. Croft averages 21 tackles a game across his NRL career and if he can avg 300 kick metres, then that is a base of 35 in just tackles and kicks alone. Add to that he averaged 70 run meters a game at melbourne, and there is plenty to build on from a fantasy perspective.

With Fifita outside him you'd expect some LBAs and TAs, and he is a great supporter of the ball back up the middle.

With his base he seems a pretty low risk pick in that he shouldn't lose money.. but his ceiling likely depends on how well the Broncos come together as a team. They have a new spine and it might take a while for it to gel..

Have to be Lowe wouldn't it? I would say more likely to play 80 min 2rf and if so long term average of 45. I don't know much about Sua though.

Their fantasy output in the stats are very similar, but as you say, you would expect Lowe to be more likely to play 80

What about Flanagan for around the same price? His scores weren't too bad at the sharks. Keary doesnt have much of a long kicking game so he should get his share of kms, and i assume he will be kicking goals.

Something about croft that puts me off...

I agree. I keep thinking Brisbane got him so he could play the same role he played for Melbourne, so I don’t see his points increasing. Milford and Munster are pretty similar....

Just checked Croft's scores when Munster didn't play:
    2019 - Round 16: 64 points (season high)
    2019 - Round 18: 46 points
    2018 - Round 17: 70 points (season high)
    2018 - Round 18: 60 points

It's only a sample size, but it shows what he can do when he has more control of the game.
Wasn't there talk of Croft taking a leading role?

I won't be starting with Croft in my team, but I can see him doing a Mitch Moses (after Norman left, going from a season average of 37 in 2018 to an avg of 54 in 2019)

I think you are being rather naive in your confidence. Whilst Ken had the rapid hurricane kick and flaming shoryuken at his disposal, Ryu’s Hadoken is undoubtedly the stronger. And let’s all be honest with ourselves for a moment and admit that the Wave motion fist combined with the Satsui no Hado make Ryu the clear winner...

I started the year with Croft and watched him pretty closely.
It was pretty evident to me that Smith has a chip on his block for him. I know it’s easy to perpetuate these rumours about player friction, but either Smith was making the calls on field or Bellamy made the game plan, but the result was that Munster ended up taking a hell of a lot more of the kicking opportunities than I was expecting when I started the year with him. I don’t expect a Milford to be as competitive with the sharing of kicking game. Though it is admittedly a gamble. To draft him you would be no doubt expecting him to take the lion’s share of the kicking duties, and he will need to in order to improve upon last year.
