Utoikamanu actually got upgraded to top 30 contract for Eels this season within the last day but apparently is going to Tigers in 2021 so don't know if he'll actually get any gametime this year
Cool, thanks. I know it's only the first couple of days of playing around, but jeez I'm struggling to squeeze 21 in a squad - that extra 16K seems to be having quite an impact.
Yeah, I was just reading that article on Utoikamanu too. As an Eels fan, if he's as good as the hype suggests, that is super disappointing that he's moving on. But, also as an Eels fan, not unexpected.
Either way, if he is that good and they do give him some game time this year, I could sure as balls use a 228K FRF at the minute.

PSA: NRL Fantasy addicts can access their team through the iOS app by downloading and logging in first time. You will then be refused on re-entry like Dave Taylor at an all you can eat so rinse and repeat previous process until addiction is fed sufficiently or FailHub have their app working which could be after the Titans win a title

The Dragons prices are on nrl.com & Merrin has been classified as a frf 578k. Playing lock he should get 50-60 mins maybe up to 65 mins & these kind of minutes are good for a frf re fantasy. It's hard to know how he'll assimilate back into the nrl though.

Top-tier Super League forwards tend to be pretty good when they come over, and he was a top-tier Super League forward.
Put it this way, if an English forward came over with Merrin's stats and he was 578k at FRF and likely to play lock, we'd be all over him.

Lomax another one to watch. Dragons have a decent forward pack and halves but ordinary outside backs so you'd think Lomax would be the focus of their attack, that's what I want to see in the charity shield, that and goal kicking. Also want to see how Isaac Luke works. I would guess he spells Merrin via McInnes to lock for 25-30 minutes.

What’s gonna be your guys strategies with your halves, do you want:
2 guns? Eg Cleary and Moses
A gun and a middle ranger? Eg Moses and Flanagan/Croft
Or a gun and a cheapie? Eg Cleary and Luai

Im not keen on gun and cheapie

Gun and middle ranger for me. Luai will probably just sneak into my 17 though so i get the gun, mid & cheapie combination

Sort of touched on this in my team rate thread.
Going Midrange + Midrange. Makes it easier on the bank, and no reason guys like Drinkwater/Croft cant kick on with Luai, Mann on the bench and DPP Brimson at WFB providing flexibility.

No interest in Shane Wright if he continues the 80 minute role on the Cowboys edge? Priced at 37 but averaged 44 in his 80 minute games. Could also improve his output if Marsters is outside him. He’s such a non-brand name that he will undoubtedly be a POD despite there being value there

I have an eye on what happens there, but I'm assuming that Hess will spend some time at 2rf, at some point at least. I think there might be more reliable picks elsewhere for now..

He's on my short-list. I had him down for 43 points, his starting 2rf average. He's never averaged over 40 in q cup. I suspect there's value there but not enough to punt on. He's 23 and still improving you would think. If he could squeeze out a few more points and get high 40's he would both make decent money and be keepable until rd 12 but I'm not convinced. Decent shout though.
