What are your thoughts on starting the season with 6 Guns is that going to have a negative affect after the season starts

That depends partly on who those 6 guns are.
But mostly on what cheapies you are resorting to to fund those guns. If you can get enough good cheap players then 6 guns can certainly work.

Yeah the guns I have should make a bit of money or just stay at their price Im just worried about making less money than everyone else which will affect me later on in season

This team leaves me very strap for cash but I do really like it.
McInnes
A.Fifi Carrigan
D.Fifi Su’a Williams
Moses Luai
Burns Best
Papy Brimson Lomax
Friend Api Stimson BBrailey
Grant Cow Cow Cow

Not much of a war chest to jump onto any good cows if mine fails. I do like to leave myself with a bit of a chest!

Re: NRL Fantasy 2020 Part 3
Seeing a lot of people with Luai as starting HLF what score would you be expecting. Obviously a must have at his price but Cleary will be dominant half and should take most of kick metres and run the plays without Maloney
I don’t know if he’ll make it above NPR for me for time being. Only played 1 game at 5/8 with Cleary last year vs Eels for 18 points with 1 TA where Cleary had 477 KM to Luai’s 24 KM

I actually tried to pick up Stefano Utoikamanu this morning but he wasn't there. Let me check now. Yep, he's there now. Maybe an app thing? I don't know, but I'm on board if he's any chance at all.

Re: NRL Fantasy 2020 Part 3
I certainly won’t risk not starting with RyPap, but I have a feeling he isn’t quite going to achieve the lofty heights people expect of him. His tryless games at fullback is a sample size of one, and whilst that is a peachy 63, I will always worry about a player whose stats come almost exclusively through tacklebreaks and run metres as Teddy is just about the only player who does it consistently. Storm will no doubt have a down year with all their backs moving on (although I’ve been saying that for three years now), but nobody, Teddy included, makes tries a base stat and I suspect Paps is going to be one hell of a roller coaster ride rather than Teddy 2.0
It is quite feasible he averages little more than the 40 he is priced at and there will be much better picks than him this season. Still not game to go without because the FOMO is massive.

Nearly base price player who needs to do greater than 17 to make money whose average at 5/8 last year is 32 and went 2 shy of a tonne in 2018. He isn’t a kicker he is a ball runner and can break tackles. Same reason everyone started with D.Brown/CHT/Keighran last year. Plus it allows you to run someone like Moses, DCE, Cleary as your other half.Camo123 wrote:Seeing a lot of people with Luai as starting HLF what score would you be expecting. Hey guys, this is my new draft team. I took out Moses and put in JMK because I was having a look at his points from last year when playing big mins and they were great. By doing this, it allowed me to bring in big Papalii. I feel he is a great POD and a genuine captaincy option. Having a look back at his scores last year and they were insane, so many tries, meters, tackle busts etc. What's your guys' thoughts? btw carrigan, leilua and stimson are in my team assuming they get starting roles.

Groupthink dominating already. Everyone picking the best prop (by miles). Nobody picking the best WFB (by miles).

I like the side except the 2nd row if none of them fire you will be chasing your tail trying to fix if you don't have the funds in the bankKingTeddy wrote:Hey guys, this is my new draft team. mattnz wrote:There are lots of potential 2RF value buys around the $400-500k range Leilua, Lowe, Sua, James, Stimson, Tapine etc. I am deliberately skipping them and going to the under-priced gun level instead with Fifita, Garner, Brown as my 2RF, along with Magoulias as base priced back up.
Thats a bold strategy, and I would expect nothing less from you Matt, but, its one I dont think will work. There will be some of those supposed value 2RFs that wont come off for sure, i.e. Gillet from last year, but there will be a combination that will and those that get the combination right at the start of the season will be the ones that you wont be able to catch IMO. \

Having as many popular players as possible is a good thing imo, especially since fantasy has only been open for a day or so and most of the playerbase is on the more hardcore side

I haven't had a fiddle yet, but the lack of Teddy in teams is surprising.

Re: NRL Fantasy 2020 Part 3
Just a few thoughts from reading the last few pages:
1) Not sure leaving Papy out is a good option. Should be up there with Teddy for a discount.
2) McInnes is a wait until his price drops for me, he will be one of my first trade targets. I just feel that to start the season and with the addition of I Luke and T Merrin to the squad I feel with his comeback from injury he won't be back to the lofty heights he was at in the back end of the year. 2019 Avg first 10 rounds vs last 10 rounds is 59.1 vs 69.6.
3) Stimson is a must for me - apparently CHN is bench middle now. Better player than Su'a and Lowe for cheaper.
4) Knight is a good safe second FRF pick - 13 games from interchange last year (34.8 points in 37.8 minutes). Will be starting prop all year and the one with the biggest motor.
Averaged 45.4 in 48.4 minutes last year starting (7 game sample size - includes a 20 vs the Storm). Think he kicks on this year with 50-55 minutes and goes close to a 50 average.

This is my favourite version I've see so far. I'm personally avoiding Friend, but I'm really liking how this looks. It's not completely dissimilar to what I'm currently going with, but picking Friend and JMK over McInnes & Moses certainly allows you to fill out the team far more evenly.
Very interesting...
