How does Friend get more than 50-60mins with Same Ver on the bench?

Surely Friend is on the way out by now. Seems to be fairly broken as well.

Every year I tell myself Cam Smith is going to be a plodder, every year I regret not picking him in my starting team.

haven't seen him in a single team yet.

What do people think about Luke Brooks in the halves?

I think he will be in the tier below Cleary, DCE and Moses.

Brooks I can’t fully trust yet, could average much the same as last season though. I’ll say he will average 51. I reckon Cleary will average high 50’s.

Agreed. Cleary has some upside, Brooks potentially sits around the same. Would be interested in a thorough Brooks' analysis though, in regards wins/losses and halves partner scores. Bloke went on 3 or 4 distinctive high and low score runs last years.

I'm glad nobody is talking about SJ but is picking Moses at the same price despite SJ having 4 times the fantasy and real life pedigree and playing injured most of last year.

The hard decisions in my team at the moment:
    Cleary vs Moses
    Merrin vs Fotuaika
FOMO leaving out Brown, Crichton, Levi

I think SJ is in for a poor year. Sharks losing a lot of forward power, I see them regressing and it’s hard for a half when the forwards don’t lay a platform. Nothing but gut feeling on this one, so probably still an astute pick but one my sub-cockle region won’t let me pull the trigger on.

No idea, most cows fans want Robson but are expecting Granville, to start the year at least.

Yeah NQ are pretty loyal and the fact that Granville was there for the Grand Final means there is pressure to keep him starting. But hopefully he is either on the bench or playing a reserve grade. But I agree most fans want Granville in reserve grade this year. But I doubt Robson will ouste him from week 1 as much as I would like to see it.

The Panthers are worse than the Sharks, so that's a reason to think twice about Cleary as much as Johnson.

I dunno. There are four potential gun halves (DCE, Moses, SJ, Cleary) as well as a couple who could be (Milford,, Hunt) but have more of a reason to wait and see, and a few (Brooks, Pearce, Munster) who are a notch down but could elevate.

Of the four, I don't like Moses, who had a career year last year and I would expect Dylan Brown to do a lot more this season than last. SJ and Cleary both solid picks but see above, and Cleary SoO. Safest pick and probably highest scorer is DCE but he's more expensive and Origin as well.

I think Cleary is the safer pick. Can Moses back up last season?
I can see Merrin peaking early and then fading once the weekly grind of the nrl catches up with him. Fotuaika looks promising.

I just have FOMO with Eels' draw and the fact they face 3 top 8 teams from last year until R14 (Broncos, Sea Eagles, Storm)

Also I usually have less than 25k in the bank for my team drafts so couldn't even do Moses to Cleary if I wanted to

I imagine if their early draws were reversed I would probably pick Cleary. Honestly they will likely average pretty much the same IMO, and I'm leaning towards Moses for early draw + less chance of Origin and R12

BEAST!! Reads like Bateman's stats in super league which made me pick him to start round 1 last year.

Compiled his stats game by game; 51 avg fantasy points in NSW cup for 8th placed team (who made NSW Cup GF)

Obviously the fantasy points won't have a direct correlation but the fact he has high average RM (170) is positive if you were to start with him. The amount of TBs (7.4 average) likely wouldn't transfer through to the NRL if he played but again is positive

Is anyone tempted by Ponga? GK gun fullback - better value than Teddy. Knights don't have the worst draw to start.

I've seen him play a bit in some reserve grade games and he is indeed very very impressive. He should definitely get a crack.

I don't think Uele even needs the start. Most teams need a big minute bench middle to make rotations work and I could easily see that being Uele

I know everyone wants Leleisiuao to start for fantasy purposes, but I think its highly unlikely he will be there in round 1.

I think the 4.3 point fanhub tax on SJ just about removes any value he might have had. I'd have Cleary for the same price but personally will save the 25k for Moses.

I don't know really, but Xerri was/is a highly touted kid who the coach himself had said he will get a run sooner rather than later. Leleisiuao moved back home and was given a train and trial offer, and he and Erin Clark were signed to the top 30 mid January.

Jonus Pearson had already been brought to the club by Holbrook on a two year deal, and they incumbents Sami + Don. I think Sami would be a lock for one wing spot. Don has been solid over the years, but no certainty..
