I know we are all so excited about Grant, however, I am thinking about what happens to M'bye & Douehi and the tigers.

Is Grant guaranteed a starting role or will M'bye still start at Hooker.

If M'bye is starting Hooker and available on the wing, he almost becomes a must have option... Much more reliable than say Brimson or Isaako. If Grant is going to be the main hooker rather than a back up, then what position does M'bye play in the backline. Who misses out?

Thompson (WFB) Douehi (CTR/WFB?) Nofoaluma (WFB) Leilua (CTR) M'bye (HOK/CTR/HLF?) Jennings (WFB) Marshall (HLF) Brooks (HLF) Talau (CTR)

I reckon there is a possibility that Grant will come off the bench and M'bye is remarkable value as a (WFB/CTR) option.

I think the thinking is that one of Jennings/Thompson misses out:

    1. Douehi
    2. Thompson/Jennings
    3. Mbye
    4. Leilua
    5. Nofa
    6. Marshall
    7. Brooks

    9. Grant

    9. Grant

So you think we will go straight to being an 80 minute hooker from Day 1 or the role will be shared. How will that work?

In any case, it does not really matter. I just checked out M'bye's past starts at hooker. Not too promising.

The Tigers have Grant for 1 year, and then he goes back to Melbourne.

Tigers gain absolutely nothing by keeping him out of first grade. He'll start, and play big minutes. Perhaps 80, perhaps not, but he'll play enough for you to want him in your team.
I guess one worry is that the swap hasn't actually happened yet. So if Grant comes, but comes late, then they may bring him into the team slowly as he gets up to speed with Tigers training/game plan.

They have Taylor to play the exrta minutes at hooker, which could mean more minutes for their pack Rolling Laugh

It can't be far off, the NRL had an article the other day that said the salary cap auditor had signed off on the swap.

Grant will play big mins. He played 80 every week in Q Cup last year. He may not play 80 to start with in NRL but it wont be long.

Did a bit of tinkering to try and get Haas into my side, thoughts?

    Friend
    Haas, Fotuaika
    D Fifita, Taumalolo, Su'A
    Brimson, Croft
    Burns, J Leilua
    Lomax, Papenhuyzen, Isaako

    Grant, Brailey, Curran, Best

    Luai, Magoulias, Musgrove, 228k

    $1k ITB

    Basically it's JFH/Stimson/246k vs Haas/Musgrove/228k

Thanks for the info about Grant. There was never any suggestion of not having in the team. More about the value of M'bye if he is playing a lot of Hooker. It appears not much.

The other revelation that I had last night is that I am thinking of taking a punt on George Williams. Out of all of the HLFs available to choose from, he is the most likely to be undervalued and has a chance of being a cut-price keeper. He will take kick metres of Wighton and is likely to be a dominant half. Of course this is risky? But it is a risk I am likely to take.

If he goes well, I have a jump on the pack. I don't think there is any risk that he won't break even. Not many options with as significant potential for a price rise.

Sharks latest. Josh Dugan’s knee is shot. He has arthritis and worn cartilage in his knee. Surgery could be an option in a month - but that may keep him out for up to 9 months. The club made him available to rivals months ago. Manager to meet club tomorrow. @9NewsSyd @Josh_Dugan

Agree on Dfifita, he was a close second for me.

Friend and haas is very bold though.

Haas could do extremely well (i.e average 60) and be very disappointing for his price. Friend prediction is based on the assumption that we will play big minutes. I reckon he is at least a reliable captain choice

to be honest, given how many cheap nuffies you are relying on as part of your 17, I am not sure where all the money you saved has gone.

Molo, Tino, Cogget, Lumelume, Crossland are all of dubious usefulness, and if they don't start (and most of them I would expect not to) there's no guarantee that you can get a replacement at their price. And as a reward for saving all that money, you only have 1 guy values over $800k

Its quite ambitious to expect that many viable cheapies, plus an extra 4 in NPRs.
