if no cheap FRF look worth it, might run without cover, but it's z bit of a risk.

I ran without cover last year. But it was only like a week or two before I got cover in:

At this stage most selection stuff from me is my own opinion. Should be helpful during the season but TLT will do most of that work for us

He's another one of these awkwardly priced guys who could totally gun it. Nearly 50 points on average in qcup. But same problem as a lot of these guys. Won't be the dominant half. I wouldn't expect huge kms, not the gk as far as I'm aware, and job security concerns with Clifford. Love him as a player though and he's cheap.

Murray will still spend quite an amount of time in the middle and he will be in a roaming role.

Murray could produce similar scores to Taumalolo I reckon, but Murray would need to be traded out at origin time whereas Lolo you’d be able to keep.

I don't see Murray's role changing that much despite what the old man says, although more minutes maybe. I'll change my mind perhaps if I see Murray on an edge for more than five minutes in the charity shield.

We agree on the second part, both guns, but Murray's minutes/role was reduced slightly over the origin period last year and I expect similar this year.

    Hello Everyone!

Been lurking and lurking, and will most probably continue to do so, but just thought I'd drop in from Moscow to say hi, and to say thanks to everyone for all of the insight and updates (RIP Hon R.Analytics), and for ensuring that I am completely addicted to this damn thing once again...

I don't have too much to offer in return, other than a reminder that sometimes it's a lot of fun (thrilling even) to go off the beaten path, even if means going down in a blaze of glory...

Okay, so after being super anti-Hassthink, I eventually caved and put him in my team. It felt nice to stare at a reliable captain, and know that I had insured against massively falling behind the pack after a week 1 Hassplosion.

    It lasted for one night.

Suddenly it was Knight plus 430k to play with again.

So now I'm feeling all cosy with this middling lot:

    Friend
    Merrin, Knight
    D.Fifita, McGuire, W.Graham
    JMK, J.Hughes
    Lomax, Watkins
    Edwards, Papenhuyzen, Isaako

    Koroisau, J.Williams, J.Stimson, B.Brailey

Grant, Luai, Magoulias, To'a   2k ITB

    Other players I really want: Cleary, G.Williams, V.Holmes, B.Smith.

Now just need to randomly pin the (C) on the donkey...

(Obviously everything is going to change 100 times.)

Remember, whatever you do, enjoy it!

I am a fan of taking a different path but not seeing the benefit of not having haas or any other really reliable captain. It’s ended up as a team without guns and somehow still has a weak center pairing and no gun half. It’s hard to tell where all the money went.

I watched an interview with Merrin from earlier in January. Deadset had a twinkle in his eye when talking about walking back into the Dragons sheds and how much it means to him/etc. If he starts at lock I reckon I'm sold.

Importantly it sounds like he's in a better headspace after a tough year away from family/etc.

The jokes on me anyway, pretty much straight after this I started tinkering with my team again - taking out Grant on the assumption the trade is falling through, bringing in Friend because it looks like he's going to be 80mins... 45 minutes later, lets just say I'm really missing that ~370k. Team feels very mid-rangy and 1-2 players short of not being trash.

Yeah but how many houses has he trained down?

I need something to cheer for this year, although I'm still very sceptical, the Merrin comeback tour may be it.

The Broncos have replaced Glenn and Coates in their 9s squad due to leg tightness.

Staggs will come in, good news as it would indicate he is back to full fitness and more importantly good to go for the coming trial games.

Haha thanks mate. I love the Herman Crab and he’s looking huge. I think he will get his fair share of TBs and offloads but would need things to go right for him to get the minutes to consistently get near 50

For what it’s worth Jacob saifiti is arguably more impressive in training than Daniel which surprised me

I have seen a few comments over the past month about how good Jacob is going in pre-season.

When they first came onto the scene I thought he looked the better all round player, interesting to see if he can get back to playing NRL consistently.
