NRL team predictions saying Croker/Cust may be trained as backup to Levi

I think I read Kenny is injured & won't play round 1 (not sure after round 1), May is suspended so Koroisau will play big mins in round 1. Also coach Cleary has said he wants to play Koroisau for big mins.
Croker/Cust will spell Levi so he's a wait & see

If you're into Capewell you better hope he doesn't miss as many tackles like he did in round 7 2019 (12 missed tackles) & again in round 10 (12 missed tackles). In fact he missed 5+ tackles in 6 games last year.

Levi is more expensive than the other hookers being considered, and I don't think he has significantly better upside.

I am not ruling him out of my squad, as I think its possible he'll be a good buy, but at the moment i think there is better value.

i think Koro will play big minutes, eventually, if not from the start, and I'd rather him than Levi

How many minutes will Sharks Brailey play. I'd ignored both Braileys but Thoward in team predictions saying King not needed as Margoulis can cover hooker as well as 2rf

I know that still implies not 80 but he seems good price for minimum 55 mins

They brought C. King from the Eels in the off season so it depends if he's on the bench round 1. It would be better for Brailey if Magoulias was on the bench because he can cover hooker & lock.
I'm going to assume Magoulias is on the bench & guess B. Brailey will play 65-70 mins.

On Capewells high missed tackles now I remember why he piss'd me off so much last year. He would make contact, let go & then run back into position before the tackle was complete therefore incurring a missed tackle. In fact in 2019 he missed 78 tackles over 24 games which equates to 3.25 missed tackles per game. So he's starting on -6 fantasy points even before the game starts.

If you narrow down his 2019 games to CTR only he averaged 50 (including a 96) so might emerge as one of the better CTRs at the backend of the year

When Jayden started last year he averaged 65 minutes
But there were 2 low minute HIAs - otherwise he played 80 a lot, and his minimum game time was 58 minutes.

I think they'll play Blayke the same, so I would assume at least 60 minutes, with a bunch of 80 minute games.

I was strongly considering starting with him lats year if he had the CTR spot from the beginning

Last year he did get a 96, and included 2 games where he kicked 7 goals each, which bump his average up a bit. Still pretty good though

Will be interesting to see in preseason if Cleary coaches that out of him

Why would he when it's not actually a missed tackle for practical purposes? The point was he falls off a tacklebwhen he knows a teammate has it under control so that he's back in the defensive line. It's really annoying for fantasy, but a coach isn't going to be crying about it.

(I think Capewell plays off the bench for the Panthers anyway.)

Levi is going to carve up under Des. Word from Manly training is that he has put his head down, no nonsense, putting in the hard yards.

I like Levi at 500k to avg 47/48 more than Brailey at 400k to average 40 (all opinion)

I think this is a good way of breaking it down. You take out the two HIA games - I’m assuming those are the sub-40 mins and Jayden went roughly 43 in 70 mins avg. Even with his brother waiting in the wings as his known successor. So you’d think Blayke has a similar output when it’s just Magoulias or King as bench backup.

I cant see King making the 17.

Magoulis would cover any mins that Blayke spends on the bench. Hes played hooker before, started there 7 or so times in NSW cup last year. Seems like he has the skillset

I can’t either with King, I only mentioned to cover all the bases.
