So who's gonna get the wing spot now that Fusitua is shifting to centre?

Fusitua just confirmed at half time interview he will be playing centre this year.
I guess we might get a cheapie on the wing at the warriors, unsure who would be leading that race

First time I've seen meaningful minutes from Grant, classy is very right. Fantastic service from dummy half, controls the ruck well in defense and seems to put in the 1 percenters that only a coach would notice. Made a try saver on the winger from a position he had no right to be in, then followed it up by charging down the kick from marker the next play. Grant is way too good to be playing reserve grade

Really keen for the Bronx vs Cowboys trial tonight. Lots of first graders and players to look out for my team eg Haas, Lolo, Carrigan, Hess, Drinkwater etc

Recovery from the tightrope surgery after a syndesmosis tear is one that’s getting quicker and quicker. 8 weeks is about normal these days which means 4-5 weeks minimum for Aekins. Always the possibility of him being eased back if the panthers are going well
Is 5-6 weeks of Aekins worth it? I don’t remember him and the sample size is small

Also, his try may have been just a gimme taking an offload and falling over, but he still needs to put in the effort to be sniffing around like that. Just another example of those 1 percenters you mentioned.

With Talau and S.Crichton seemingly unlikely to make the 17 and Best injured, Watkins is the only one that tempts me otherwise. Some are hot on Suli but I just can’t go there. Anybody else suddenly feeling the love for a double gun Aubbs and Burns combo? My team has come full 360 back to where it started with these two. It goes against the usual plan, but with all these cheap hookers and second rowers around, I feel that this might finally be the year to get away with spending big in the centres. In the past it’s been a bad idea because rookies can score similar for a fraction of the cost. But tell me who is putting up 40s (or even close to it) for less?
100% I’ve pretty well locked myself into the widow and burns. Main worry for burns is his hammy so if I get cold feet he will become capewell
Not much love on here for capewell? If he’s starting second row about as safe a 10 point underpriced player as it gets I thought
What’s the update on Curtis Scott? Are we likely to get a centre option from Canberra?

I’d be guessing Adam Pompey - he got a run on the wing v the sharks last season when Fusitua was out for a match IIRC
Edit: he had 5 games for some really underwhelming stats - low of 3, high of 36

Good post, appreciate the professional insight.
I still think 5-6 weeks could be worthwhile. Plenty of time to make cash if he finally lives up to his hype. His average scores last season coincided with a very poor Panthers outfit. It’s a risk but at his price, not much to lose

I just cant do it. I'm too stubborn I think. Im going cheap even with limited options at this point.
I love Burns though. Those sideways runs are gold

Given Fusituas height and leaping ability, would expect him to be leaping on the wing in attack often.
Pompey's scores last season were terrible, will be a trap if named on the wing.

So worth the hype you reckon? He scored well when he played and you’re right not much to pay for the privilege. Can hopefully jag a few and make some quick cash or keep Edwards out for a while

It’s hard to tell with such a small sample size. Plenty of players with big wraps on them in lower grades just don’t transition to NRL level. I know resident “big balls” POD picker @mattnz took a chance on him so he probably was watching him more closely than others and may have an opinion. It’s not like his scores were trash, never dipped below his price point- just whether there is enough value.
