James Graham @NRL_Dragons will start 2020 season without a hitout. He’s been rested from all pre-season trials. Merrin, Host, Sims, Vaughan, Lawrie and Blacker to form front-row rotation in charity shield v @SSFCRABBITOHS

By "front-row rotation", I think he just means "middle" rotation...

I read earlier that Kerr will be pushing for round 1

I thought Merrin was injured too? Or was that just a 1 week rest from last week.

    Apparently not.

I'd rather have Friend and Koro than Levi

And I think BBrailey probably gives slightly better bang for buck (at over $100k cheaper, his scores should be good enough to make him the better value pick)

Levi certainly could be an option though.

there are no $250k centres that I would be confident of playing first grade

You can pin your hopes on Milne, Harper, Talau or Smith-Shields, but I suspect you'll be settign yourself up for disappointment

Moga/Tuala look to be the cheapest ones who might start in round 1

I've been thinking this myself, and I don't think there is this year.
I'm banking on either 2nd rowers or fullbacks to fill this
Pos. Last year I had nikora/bateman, this year is shaping to be aubbs/capew. Previously looking at bird/Mitchell. But.......Mitchell is looking fat and bird is glass, so not right now.
I'll be keeping an eye on McIntyre 2.

General question: pretty much every team I’ve seen has a gun half. Is this because people think there’s value, or something you do every year because it’s too hard to trade in 2-3 good halves in-season? Or a bit of both?

I guess it’s easy to see why people are going Haas/Lolo/both, but wondering why everyone is auto one of Cleary/Moses and not say one of Tedesco/Ponga?

I didn't think there were many around this season, I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss anyone

Agree with you here Milchy. If not for the abundance of value hookers I would be more interested in Levi. I prefer Friend and Koro from a points perspective. Brailey from a dollars perspective.

I can’t help thinking Levi will score similar scores / or close to Friend been bugging me something chronic.

I mean I get the appeal is there but I don't see him vastly improving on his 36 BE. In the last 4 years he has only played 80 minutes 7 times and his best season average is 39.9 in 2018 where he played 8 games and averaged 68.4 minutes. Is the thought that the players around him at Manly will help out and Des's defensive minded coaching will help his MT's?

Not knocking Levi at all as he is pretty high on my list but what are your thoughts on how he will go this year?

Also the way he acted in Newcastle when a few of the other blokes were getting a run over him made him come across as a complete jackass and since then I've really gone off him. I am pretty sure he has even quoted that he thinks he is better than a number of Hookers around and should be playing test footy.

Agree with all of this. Hell, I'd almost take Reed Mahoney and Wayde Egan (if there was no bench hkr) over Levi

Liam Knight to start at lock, surely gets a rest at about 25-30 (When Murray goes Middle) then comes back on around 55 to finish out the game... So possibly about 50-55 minutes up for grabs? His average over 50 minutes is 56.7. DPP will be nice but that price tag is really tricky

A lot of people try and start with a gun in every position (or as many positions as possible)

I like Cleary over Tedesco/Ponga, as with the absence of Maloney I think he has potential to go elite

Tedesco is going to be the top scoring WFB this year, but I don't think there is great value in his price, so I'll just wait and grab him when his price (hopefully) drops and I have funds to get him in.

Ponga interests me a little, and he's been in a couple of team drafts. Possibly he'll come in for Cleary to save a bit of cash before round 1
