All of the above and a gnawing feeling he has matured and ready to give NRL a crack under Des - nothing concrete just a gut feeling, might well be just gas.StormTrooper96 wrote:
I mean I get the appeal is there but I don't see him vastly improving on his 36 BE. In the last 4 years he has only played 80 minutes 7 times and his best season average is 39.9 in 2018 where he played 8 games and averaged 68.4 minutes. Is the thought that the players around him at Manly will help out and Des's defensive minded coaching will help his MT's?
Not knocking Levi at all as he is pretty high on my list but what are your thoughts on how he will go this year?
Also the way he acted in Newcastle when a few of the other blokes were getting a run over him made him come across as a complete jackass and since then I've really gone off him. I am pretty sure he has even quoted that he thinks he is better than a number of Hookers around and should be playing test footy.

So possibly about 50-55 minutes up for grabs? His average over 50 minutes is 56.7. DPP will be nice but that price tag is really tricky
Last year as starting prop he averaged about 50 minutes (and 45+ points)
If he can get it so that 50 minutes is his base, not the average, then I am definitely interested.
Unfortunately Charity Shield probably won't give us a great idea, as they'll run a million subs in the 2nd half, but hopefully he has a good first stint and we'll see how he goes.

Would normally be Hiku but he is named in extended reserves. Unsure why, as Fus has one centre spot locked up.
EDIT: "and centre Peta Hiku, who returns from offseason surgery."
I guess he is probably not up to speed yet.

A couple years ago he was regarded as the next RTS out of the Warriors. Very quick, fast on his feet and has the smarts to back it. Still very young though I think he will thrive at centre as he has the size around him.

Hiku is named on the reserve bench and I think he was expected to get the gig. Herbert has played a lot of centre too
Beale is injured, not sure when he's due back or if he'll even get a spot when fit.
if Hayze gets a spot come round 1 we can update chewie's list of cheap potential CTRs

Yeah I looked at the Warriors team three times and missed Hiku each time. Thanks for finding my oversight. It was a nice 5 mins where I thought there was a playable base price outside back.

I guess it’s easy to see why people are going Haas/Lolo/both, but wondering why everyone is auto one of Cleary/Moses and not say one of Tedesco/Ponga?
As someone who is going against the grain by starting 2 cheap halves and paying more for my WFBs, im guessing the logic is that there are more genuine gun options for WFB meaning you have several to choose from when upgrading = you are more likely to get one at a reduced price. With a smaller pool of genuine guns in the halves you may not get the luxury of trading in a gun at a reduced price. I also think, the WFB pool is bigger for value picks.
Personally, ive chosen to go with HLFS/WFBs in my halves (Brimson and Drinkwater) and am starting a gun WFB which at the moment is RTS.

John Bateman is considered unlikely to be fit for the Raiders in Round 1 as he continues rehab from shoulder surgery. No specific expected return date as yet

I get what you mean, but I feel going to Manly, being under Des, and the lack of specialist hookers at Manly with Fainu out, I'm picking he averages around 8-10 above his price.
Yeah he thinks that and we feel it's arrogant but NFL players are all like that and it's normal. I'm not saying he's right, but backing himself isn't the worst. He's no BS9 but he'll be a good middy I'm predicting

This is the first time I've seen someone mention Munster so I'll give my reason for avoiding him
In 4 games with Papenhuyzen at fullback Munster averaged 43.2 fantasy points compared to season average of 52.3
The stats are also backed up by the eye test. Once Papenhuyzen became fullback Melbourne started structuring their attack differently. Instead of being heavily reliant on the block play that would get Munster one on one with a poor defender on the left edge, Melbourne seemed to use him as more of a decoy with Papy getting the ball back through the middle. This involves lots of tip ons back through the inside from Munster/whoever is one off the ruck that set or even a cut out pass from hooker.
Shape A is the structure that used to be run pre Papy. Shape B is post Papy
A:
B:
tl;dr Munster was used more as a play maker than ball runner after Papy made his debut. Will this continue?
