I’ve been hopeless with bye planning the past few years as I was only interested in head to head results but this year I want to have a crack at overall

I couldn’t think of one good Dual CTW, let alone 2. You play Aubbo, then Chricton joins the bench as Uncle Nick gets his Shark. There is no value in any of the dual CTW that I can see!Camo123 wrote:

Triple centre just makes no sense.
HOK - V.High Base / V.High Ceiling
FRF - Low Base / High Ceiling
2RF - Medium Base / High Ceiling
HLF - High Base / V.High Ceiling
CTR - V.Low Base / Medium Ceiling
WFB - Low Base / High Ceiling
“As a rule” or reasonable representation... with the likes of Haas, LoLo, Teddy or any mega guns being exceptions, and disregarding the fact people put locks like Carrigan and Knight at prop

Is RTS good to go for round 1? Assuming he is who would yous prefer: RTS or Turbo?

I’ve got both but would go Turbo if forced to choose.

That's scarily similar to my current iteration - different bench, but going with a lot of forwards could well be a winner.
I'm also considering running double gun halves (Cleary/Moses).
It's scary to see what you can add by dumping Friend - he's been in every version of my team from the start, but the (didn't actually happen) plan to have Verillis play 30 mins puts a dampener on him.
May have to consider punting the future Qld origin player for another mid-sub-gun FRF.

Just got my avatar into the rugby league supporter spirit. Now the expression suits what it's been like to be a Titans supporter. Thought last year they were gonna go great guns - got the spoon instead. Maybe this year they'll get off the bottom.
Is there any love for Ash Taylor to make some cash in the halves?

But your ceilings only matter for an end team and even then you say its disregarding guns...GreenMachine wrote:Triple centre just makes no sense.

Assuming you were talking about Burns, Aubbo and Ramien there is a bunch of players I would rather drop cash on in that range
Slightly more cash I would prefer JMK, Levi and LLeilua
Slight less I would prefer Koroisau, Ash Taylor, Tapine, Cartwright, JWilliams, Hess, Brimson, Waddell, Cotric, Carrigan, Su'a, Drinkwater, BBrailey
I'm not sure why you are forcing yourself to pick an extra player from the worst position in fantasy

I don’t think you can say you don’t want any Dogs or Titans. Any player who is playing in that bye is better than having none at all. For example, if you going the cheap and nasty centre route then Watkins, Shibasaki, Wiliame, Lomax etc are probably your options. All 4 of them play round 12. None are particularly appealing, but if they are already in your team then they are better than those not playing. The same could be said of To’omago of the Dogs, if he starts in the FRF. I wouldn’t pick them now necessarily, but they do provide options if you are putting junk in your side.multiple.scoregasms wrote:
Great question and one always worth discussing
When choosing my starting team I will use bye rounds as a tie breaker when stuck on two players. For example if you believe Cleary and Moses are going to score in a similar range, I would go Moses due to playing first bye round. I wouldn't specifically choose any players because of bye rounds, although I tend to lean towards non origin guns like Taupau rather than Arrow
I start getting heavy into the byes about round 7 or 8 and always use max trades available during the bye round. 8 trades from round 7 + 3 in the bye round gives you 11 players, assuming none of your starting players are also playing. I don't specifically aim for a set number of players, I aim to get the must have guns and a few lottery tickets. I would also hold on to a peaked cow and drop a bit of cash if it means picking up 30-40 points in a bye round
Score depends on who the guns are and who is available but I would be aiming for 700+
For round 12 this year I think the following players are the ones you would consider worth trading in:
Titans - None
Bulldogs - None
Eels - Moses(origin), Matterson(origin), Nathan Brown(wait and see on scoring)
Cowboys - Taumalolo
Knights - None
Rabbitohs - Reynolds(origin), Latrell(origin), Burns(scoring)
Dragons - McInnes
Sea Eagles - AFB, Taupau

These are just players I would consider trading in purely for bye purposes. Not to be confused with players already in your team because they made sense at the start of the year as cash cows. No way would I burn a trade on bringing Lomax in and back out just for a bye

What about Luai, Best, Lowe, Su’A and most of your emergencies? I think you’ve proved it’s very difficult.KingTeddy wrote:
It's still a very strong team, only weakness is 2 of the Bench players : Koro, Brailey, Walters and Musgrove
btw the team is on my assistant coach thread

I'm not forcing myself to do anything. It's actually amusing that kinda phrasing is used when I'm the one having an open mind about the picks rather than ruling out a player because of their position.multiple.scoregasms wrote:

It's not ramien, I'm considering Scott with the other two you mentioned and I'm doing so simply because I think he's going to score better than hess, sua, Tapine and Cotric in the first 5-10 weeks and he's priced around the same point.
Yes, the top scoring players are more than likely not going to come from center and yes if you go cheap there you often end up with really low scores, but that doesn't mean there can't be value there to be had. If I'm considering a bench spot between hess and Scott, personally I think Scott scores better, regardless of playing at ctr. In fact, do you want to put an avatar bet on who of those two is the highest scorer after 7 weeks?

Been mucking around with a backs heavy WAGs team. No way I'd do it for my real team, but it's an interesting exercise to see who you would pick if you had a different strategy.
Koro
Knight, Carrigan
Lucy, Carty, Hess
Cleary, Moses
Bird, Ramien
Teddy, Ttrbo, Pappy
Mann, Walters, JTB, Kennedy
Musgrove, Koloamatangi, Rudolf, Averillo
