I wouldn't be starting with him though

Any chance he finds some form and is in around the Blues chat this year?

In real life, yes. Is fantasy, not so much. He breaks taxkles whenever he gets ball, and he'll be getting a lot more ball this year. Did absolutely fuck all in the Charity Shield and was still on 32 at half time.

It was just such a trade-saver having a set and forget centre all year last year in Nikora (and Bateman but for injury) that I'm tempted to do it again even at premium.

Tossing up between Big Joey, Bird and the Black Widow for a ctr spot at the moment (which means nothing come next Tuesday)

On the Arrow point...he seems to get broken a reasonable amount (or else be under a cloud with back issues)

I am thinking of Bird as well and maybe Lomax to partner him. Bird is a great set and forget and could be a good POD who is a little too expensive for people to jump on if he fires and Lomax will be serviceable as a GK fullback

I'd be tempted by Bird if he didn't go down like a feather in every tackle in the trials. Probably reading too much into that tbh..

    Carrigan??
Has the opportunity to own the 13 jumper, obviously well-liked/respected at the Broncs, part of their leadership group, no nonsense workhorse who provides Seibold with the option of running TPJ / DFifita in shorter destructive bursts.
He could end up being the Broncs version of Gal, averaging 50+ if he maintains regular Lock minutes.

I watched Joey Leilua trial because I'm a Warriors fan. I'm not in a rush to get him because I'm a Warriors fan. He won't line up against powderpuff defence every week

He is an absolute bandit for a slappy sideways run though

On Big Joey, didn't watch him in the trial but it does seem like his form fluctuates with his mood and the change could be good for his mood. It's could also be nostalgia on my part because I started with him and rode with him all the way in his bumper season

    On Burns/Aubo/Leulia

I'm amazed Burns is being talked up as a no questions asked gun on here, when he's actually an expensive punt. Yes, he loves his slapsies, and he might do well, but he's played about a dozen games in his career. At the same price, Leilua has fantasy pedigree and season after season of terrorising defences. There's also another 500k centre in Burns's own team that nobody is talking about who has a hell of a lot more fantasy pedigree, but everyone's going Burns and nobody's going Roberts - it looks like a living lecture on behavioural biases (or the Holland Effect). Guy scored over 40 three times in nine last year, never mind his injury problems. Don't let me stop you though.

Aubo makes a lot of sense as a choice, but I don't have the time/commitment to tune in an hour before every Roosters game every week to check if Trent has bumped him to the bench or shuffled him out of the team. If you can do that, pick him, if you can't, don't.

Bit more on the widow... Roosters have a lot of players who can play second row this year. Going to assume they'll get Morris, but even if they don't...

Cordner, Aubusson, Crichton, Nat Butcher, Tupounioua. Egan Butcher is also due gametime. Trent has shown before that he'll rest and rotate his players through the season with absolutely no regard for fantasy coaches. Seems to be an ok strategy for him, so he'll probably keep doing it.

I hear you, just have been blinded by the stats for the last couple of days. Realistically if I picked Aubusson what I was anticipating was a bumpy 5-6 week ride through to an upgrade to someone like Latrell but it's vey high risk. I would be more likely to take a punt on someone like BJ or Bird (or even the Jet) unless TLT throws up something.

I think Carrigan, Knight, Fifita, Leilua, Papenhuyzen, Jack Williams can all go near gun status and hit 45+.

I also expect Staggs to average 40+ with GK.

I have just tweaked part of my team:

    Option 1 Moses + SChricton + Walters
    Option 2 Mann + Aekins + Knight

People are picking up burns for his high floor. Priced at 34 and in full games last season he didn’t score less than 33.

So who's better value - Knight or Friend?

I can't afford both. Friend has been in pretty much all iterations of my team, but Knight gives me quality FRF cover (as opposed to relying on a Musgrove/JTB emergency)

no real answer to that imo i would think that based on facts security and sacrifice needed to be made to bring them in knight but can't rule out friend
