Also what are the chances of Cornish getting a run and Norman shifting to center?
Gordon, Radradra, Jennings, Norman, Gutherson would be solid.

very handy but will be in nearly every team! Now the deliberations start for me about Whitehead @ $313,000
Think I'll hold off because of a) concerns about Canberra's starting 13; b) Whitehead is an offloader and plays with a bit of flair, but I'd expect him to be more conservative (and low scoring) until he gets secure in his spot in the NRL where a few errors and he's out of the team. Certainly has the potential to be a $450k player, but a risk to start the season.

Tough because i know the damage he can do and like you say potentially has some big rises in him! Also toughing seeing Rochow and Tapine both priced under him and one if not both will be logging big minutes in that knights backrow

As in guys who have already joined the NRL this year or guys from the SL who should be playing in the NRL?
there is a guy called Sam Burgess at the Rabs who is pretty decent

I heard he was a flop union and was looking to play off his brother Georgies popularity, what about that other Burgess brother Joe? Looks to be a massive unit as well.
I mean give us a write up of all the blokes making the move this year, I mean if you want to mention some guys who should be in the NRL go ahead.
(Oh do you think that Tomkins fella would go alright in the NRL.)

I watch a lot of SL & I've said what I think about Whitehead. At the start of the season I'd be more interested in Taia's price - apparently he's training as starting left 2RF for the Titans.
Of the others, I wouldn't take Joe Burgess unless absolutely bottom price. He's fast but I don't think he has the strength or defence to make it in the NRL. Tyrone McCarthy will tackle all day but I doubt he'll get into the Dragons 17. Masoe at the Dragons struggles to stay on the field for more than 8 minutes at a time even in SL.
Mickey Paea is an interesting one. He's a different player to the one who left the NRL - really solid workhouse forward - and if he gets 45-50 minutes could be a bargain at $280ish, but it's a tricky price and depends on the Knights' rotation.
The guy I'm really looking out for is Ben Garcia, who isn't even priced in the Panthers' NRL site preview. He's an undersized prop more than a second rower but runs hard as hell and reminds me of Jake Trbo. If he can get into the Panthers 17 I reckon he'll impress and be a decent cow from $130k.

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy pre-thread Part 2
I'm sure Rhino will help me out on some of these
Joe Burgess - rapid and knows where the tryline is, defence is mediocre and he isn't really a tackle busting winger in the ilk of Mansour or Semi, more like Simmons was at the Panthers. give him a chance and he will score so fantasy avg will depend hugely on tries (like most wingers) he won't be rookie price either so a risk
Elliot Whitehead - said over and over what i think of him, loved him as a player since his Bulls days, personally reckon he nails down a starting 2nd row spot, plays big minutes and absolutely fires
Mose Masoe - Reckon he has a big impact at the Dragons in his return, he was class for St Helens think he will help fill the destructive carrying void left by Merrin
Rankin might force his way into that Tigers backline, he has come on alot over in the SL
If Taia gets 65 mins+ at the titans i think he will go very well in his return, i had him in one of my first NRL fantasy season teams and he was good back then, was brilliant at Catalans with Whitehead all depends on his minutes which he should get at the titans

Beat me too it mate! haha
missed Paea, solid prop but can't see him getting the minutes at the start of the season, but then again im not sure on the knights prop rotation either

Forgot about Rankin. Don't really rate him tbh but could make some coin if he gets into the line-up.
Guys in SL who would kill in the NRL: Walmsley, Hill (FRFs, both much better than Cooper), Roby, Clark (Hooker, Roby too old to come over now though) Hall, McGillvary (Wing), Hardaker (FB, would go much, much better than Tomkins because he's defensively absolutely superb). England are well stocked with quality forwards and 3/4s at the moment, they just don't have any top-class halfbacks.

Hill is class, much more mobile than Cooper but i don't think he would have the same impact in the NRL
Hardaker is immense and he is a big big guy, well suited to the NRL
IMO you missed the guy who would potentially take the NRL by storm in Callum Watkins, incredible player

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy pre-thread Part 2
in addition to the guys Rhino mentioned all whom which i agree with
i would like to see Joel moon back in the NRL, been brilliant for Leeds last few years also
Mick Mccllorom
Ben Flower
Ben currie
Stevie Ward
Louis Scarsbrook
Josh Jones (off to union)
Andre Savelio, If Savelio keeps progressing he has the talent to be a top prop in world RL

Think I read that Josh Jones has given up on Union and is looking for a new league club.
Agree on Savelio, he could be a star. Made no secret that he wants to go to the NRL and maybe play for NZ (think he has a Kiwi dad). Currie, Ward and Bateman are the other up-and-comers in British RL, and there's a lot of hope for Williams and Sutcliffe at halfback, though they're a way off yet. Incidentally the best player in the England U-18s set-up is called...Cameron Smith (he's a lock though, so look forward to a CS13 instead of a CS9 in a few years time).
Watkins, oddly, I think is the greatest talent in Super League but not sure how that would translate to the NRL. When he's good he's amazing - think a turbocharged Michael Jennings with Jamie Lyon's hands - but he does have some really, really bad games and not sure how that would go down.

Elliot Whitehead is cheap enough that I think Taia will be a tasty price if he follows the same formula.
Eagerly awaiting his price.
Wonder if Paea will be like Sam Moa. Average guy when he left, comes back solid.

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy pre-thread Part 2
risky but having a mix of the likes of taia/whitehead/rochow/Tapine with the old stalwarts mannering, parker, fensom etc should free up enough cash to stack the frf with the guns and not suffer too heavily elsewhereMilchcow wrote:

Not good for Te Maire Martin's chances if true
