Me too. Even when he played at the Warriors he wasn't that flash fantasy wise. I don't think he's worth 211k.
Around his range & less = Hoare, Ofahengaue, Lawrence, Starling, Matagi, N. Brown & Hala.

Do you think any of his new team mates will nickname him 'Fudge'?
I sure as hell wouldn't

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy pre-thread Part 2
Im not sure about McGuire getting heaps of minutes. Blair and Thaiday averaged a little over 50mins as starting props and that's with Dodds, Wallace and Ofa on the bench. Surely if the bench is Wallace, Thaiday and Ofa. Thaiday will get more mins than Dodds ever did and with Wallace coming into his own towards the end of the year surely Thaiday and Wallace will pinch mins off the starters?
Just a thought. Im seriously considering McGuire but thinking about this has me leaning towards JBrom more as he was getting big mins before the reduced interchanges. With the loss of Hinchcliff TLL and Weston and really only the gain of White can't see his mins being tinkered with.

For the past few years McGuire has averaged a solid 55mins whenever fit. Don't see why that would change if he is fit again this year.
Broncos have always had a stacked pack in this time

Feeling the same. He is in my squad but its more as a placeholder and hoping someone good turns up during the trials.
Pricing him with a 0% discount on scores that are 3 years old - just don't see how there is value there or how he'll suddenly excel in that Dragons pack

Woods & Graham seem to be the go.
Gurgess only scored 1 try last year. Should do better this year?
JWH could be a bolter - still injured though?
Bromwich is the bolt-on & durable af. I think the only game he's ever missed was for the birth of his kid.

Not to be picky but when was he getting those sort of minutes when they were stacked in that in the forward rotation?

Going to start the season with 3 of Surgess, JBrom, Woods and Graham. Just have to work out which one to leave out

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy pre-thread Part 2
I think its time to get the crystal ball out and do some serious guesswork on Matt Parcell.
Even if he grabs a starting spot, he'll be sharing time with Koroisau, and I can't see him getting massive minutes.
Just looking at Moseley for comparison who was in a slightly similar position last year.
Firstly when paired with Beau Falloon.
They played together 6 times last year. Every single time Beau started but Moseley got more minutes. One of them was injury effected, but its still a pretty clear trend.
When Falloon was paired with Chad Redman the starter got more time (3 games)
When Moseley paired with Mortimer the starter got more every time (well once they swapped at half time for 40 minutes each, and once Elgey got injured so Mortimer played out the game in the halves)
Anyway, the point being, predicting the hooking duties was a bit of a crapshoot.
Manly have the advantage in that there are just 2 potential hookers, not the 4-5 that the Titans had. But assuming both are named, I just can't see either being value from the start. maybe after a few weeks when we see what sort of minutes/workload they are getting.
Maybe an injury in the backs will see Koro go to 5/8th and Parcell get big game time, but otehrwise just can't really trust him to get gametime.
If you think Koro will get 60 minutes plus at hooker, he's certainly worth considering. But really at this point I'm not sure I want to risk either. Hopefully trials are a bit more revealing.

I think Surgess and JGraham represent much better value than the other 2.
I'd take those and pick Woods/JBrom. JBrom wins out for me due to origin free.

Well last year, with pretty much the same team as now he averaged just over 50 minutes.
But if you split it up he averaged 38 minutes in the first 4 games, and 58 minutes after that until he got injured.
Unfit to start the year maybe, or some other reason. Certainly not the worst pick. but with James Graham costing exactly the same, I would be picking Graham before touching McGuire

I'm of the same opinion except it is just so easy to see Woods get a few more minutes and he is already priced a bit low

Surgess as gun frf in place of Parker. Will save some coin there. Such good value with some of the props like Graham it is hard to leave him out, and with the reduced interchange paying the price to get the guys who will hold a lot of minutes and may even see a few more is a gamble I'm willing to take
