I mean he is now a year older than he was last year after all. Plus broncos second row: Alex Glenn and Matt Gillett are less likely to need a rest vs Parker (being at lock, tackling more and age), so I don't see how his mins would increase this year. But take that with a pinch of salt as I am far, FAR from an expert lol.
Fingers is just going on the changes to the interchange I guess.  You're right about him getting on but he won't get less minutes and there is a chance he gets more.

Do Brisbane still run with a bench hooker though?  Macca the FAC is an 80 minute hooker.  He rotated into the backrow when Niko came on more times than not in 2015 from memory.  With the interchange reduction and a versatile forward pack to cover injuries, wouldn't you have Macca playing 80 at hooker in 2016?

You are missing a 2fr. I see a great starting 13 but you need to downgrade some of them to get a more balanced 17. I assume your bench will be Parcells, Ofahen, Whitehead & Taylor. The first 3 will not get great minutes but Taylor is fine.

    Is your 6th 2RF a nuffie?

Obviously Copley is a risk but what is he priced at, I can't remember?  Does Dugan score as well at centre, rumour is that's where he wants to play but yeah, cross that bridge when you come to it.

Parcell wont be a real option unless he gets 30 minutes which could be unlikely. If he ends up starting he is great option.

I don't see Ofahengaue's minutes increasing with McGuire coming back from injury.

Whitehead could be great, but he may struggle to find minutes with Papalii & Soliola who averaged almost 80 minutes last season and Fensom who averaged 60 minutes.

Maire Martin may not play at all this year so essentially he becomes a dead position.

    Brown is a no go..

The rest of your squad looks good.

Why brown is a no go for mine.

    Lewis Brown -

0.58 PPM while starting Second Row. This means if he gets 60 minutes he would average 35 points a game. (Which is where he is currently priced at.) With that said if he gets 80 minutes he would average 46 points a game.

I am personally not sure he will get the minutes to make him a worthy pick.

    (Random guess at Manly Pack)
    J. Trbojevic - N. Myles
    L. Brown - M. Taupau - J. Buhrer

    M. Parcell - L. Burgess - D. Lussick - T. Symonds/J. Starling/F. Mateo/B. Leary/B. Lawrence (Potentially)

That rumour was before they signed Lafai. Copley is priced at $171k

    My squad..

    HOK: J. Segeyaro (N. Peats)
FRF: A. Woods, J. Graham (M. Masoe, NPR)
    2RF: S. Burgess, M. Cooper, R. Rochow (B. Henry, NPR, NPR)
    HLF: J. Maloney, J. Reynolds (J. Hastings, A. Taylor)
    CTR: T. Lafai, D. Copley (K. Auva'a, M. Chee-Kam)
WFB: M. Gordon, B. Ferguson, J. Mansour (C. Gutherson, NPR)

    Cash Remaining: $67 000

    - If Parcell starts I would look at downgrading a Hooker for him.
    - Not sure about Masoe, but not sure who I should look at beside him.
    - Also thought about downgrading M. Cooper to Tapine and bring in Mcguire/G. Burgess for Masoe.

That's a nice looking team mate!
Only issue for me is going with 2 real punts in the halves. I'd like at least one recognised gun

The way some people think the new interchange will work, you'd think that 11 of the 13 starters will play 80 minutes, and 2 other poor schmucks will share time 50/50 with 2 subs each.

OK - that is a slight exaggeration, but almost everywhere you see people saying that player X will now see 80 minutes due to the interchange rule.

Its important to note that there are still only 1040 minutes per team per game (80 minutes x 13 players on field) if someone is playing more game time then someone else is missing out elsewhere. Teams aren't suddenly going to stop giving subs game time because of 2 less interchanges. They'll just change the timing of subs to give them fewer, longer, stints rather than not use them at all.

My personal opinion is that a lot of teams will run a bench utility who may or may not see any game time, depending on how the game plays out. Guys like Hastings and Nikorima in 2015 who would only get 10 minutes now may be saved in case of injuries. (so in contradiction to what I just wrote, some starters might get more minutes if there is 1 less bench guy getting time)
This is more likely to be seen if/when the number of changes drops to 6, but it will become more frequent as teams start to adjust

When I next get a bit of free time with the stats I'll see how many times teams had an unused bench player in 2015. Whatever number it was, I bet it increases in 2016.

For those looking at Parker, He wont get more then 65 minutes at all this season I wouldnt think.

Bennett used the bench sparingly last year as it was. Now we have McGuire back we are going to most likely have Thaiday or Blair starting on the bench who will need big minutes. Glenn & Gillett would get rested after Parker.

As for Macca, JNIk will continue to be on the team, the Broncos only used the 10 subs last year on the back of Parker/Thaiday having 5 min breaks either side of each other. Broncos will have no trouble using 8 subs including the sub hooker.

I certainly would have Macca at 80min without a doubt. But I can't see Bennett having Parker play games with any more mins than last year. He won't want to burn him out over the season, too vital to the team I reckon.

Waiting for fantasy to open, when it does I will post my first draft which will stay that way till TLT.

Might change my team name to MilfHunt or Maccasrun or something.

With McQueen departing. Might be an opening starting spot for Grevsmuhl.

    nrl.com had this starting pack:
Gurgess, Cook, Tyrell, McQueen, Sutton, Surgess

bench - Turgess, Grevsmuhl, Clark, Turner

      Current date/time is Sat Nov 23, 2024 3:16 pm
