I also mentioned shopping centres and themeparks.
They don't get any types of numbers through or foreign visitors? In my opinion shopping centres are worse than a sports event. You get all demographics going to them. Not just a demographic who likes sport.

Disneyland and Universal Studios are closed, and I assume other theme parks have too. Australia is a couple weeks behind the rest of the world, so I suspect we will eventuially follow suit (probably aroudn the same time NRl/AFL get suspended)
People need to shop. And shopping centres are a lot less busy than they used to be (aside from panickers fighting over toilet paper at 7am every morning)

Its only two Disneyland's that are shut. The one in Shanghai and California. Everything else is still business as usual
Y2K is a really good compairon actually, great points as usual cow. Saw a video shared today where there was a line of people queued to get into the grocery story that stretched the entirety of the parking lot because of the whole rules around how many people can be in there at one time. The reality is its going to be shit for us regardless, I'd rather that 'shit' be that i miss some league than any of the alternatives.Milchcow wrote:
My mother in law is massively at risk if she gets it. My father probably wouldn't fair too well either.
The annoying thing is going to be that if a bunch of stuff gets cancelled, and then things aren't too bad, lots of people will say "See - we overrracted" rather than think "It was because of the reaction that things didn't get too bad"
Happened with Y2K. The reason it wasn't a problem was because people put a lot of effort into making sure it wasn't a problem, and now everyone thinks it was a hoax. It didn't help that some idiots thought that toasters would stop working and planes would fall out of the sky (the equivalent of people buying 2 years supply of toilet paper all at once)
But there were a lot of serious problems that only got fixed because people put effort in.
i think by the end of the month, Australia is more likely than not to have restrictions similar to Italy. No mass gatherings of people, cut out non-essential travel.

Having Lolo means that if there are any injuries or my cheapies don't fire leaves me with very little room to move. Having arrow allows much more options if this did occur. Plus Arrow is a major POD this year with an ownership of 3.9%. Hmm means I only have (C) Hass & Carigan in tonight's game - No Dfif or Lolo.

F1 is morally bankrupt though. Literally teams coming in from Italy, and confirmed cases of the virus, and still going ahead
I’d suggest Vic Govt call it off but all govts are a bit like F1.
I reckon we get two full rounds at most.

Tempted, but no. Do have a wags team based on a shortened season, that breaks every rule of a full season, but has a chance short term to perform well.WT2K wrote:
Did mattnz do it?
I’m ok with jmk. First game back, was ok heading into the game with a BE performance. The important thing for me was that first game of the season he was given 80 minutes. As his fitness improves and he gets confidence in his shoulder, should be able to be more of a tackle bot and start running more. Would have been disappointed if he had got 50-65 minutes.Teeth Eater wrote:Alternatively, tonight;
Paulo looked pretty good. Looked likely and it'll be interesting to see if he keeps that up.
Matterson rock solid in a bad game of football.
DWZ proving that he was probably as good an option as any other cheap starting fullback, yet for some reason he was barely mentioned at all... that I saw anyway. I know last year towards the end of the season I picked Gutho over him, when both were priced about the same, and couldn't for the balls of me figure out why I did it. He's not amazing, but he's a good solid performer and you'd expect he makes good coin.
Nathan Brown must have been disappointing to any who took a punt? JMK owners probably equally disappointed? Moreso, even?
To'omaga probably exactly where he was last year, except without his CTR DPP anymore.
