I agree it is a shitty situation but I've changed my tune a little. While schools/unis/shops/restaurants/public transport are open, I think the NRL has to press on. The NRL is making their health a priority so I don't see that as a big concern. They're avoiding the public, taking chartered flights, isolating themselves, everything that is necessary. The players will be in a worse situation if the game goes broke. Many of them get paid more than we do so are in a much better financial situation to work around their short term difficulties, sure there are players that aren't paid well but they can band together as a community and look after each other. (just as people in the local community are helping out the elderly/etc right now)
There will be far, far more people in worse situations because they've been left without work/etc.
Things will probably be much different in two weeks time anyway.
