I doubt the NRL has signed off on it as who knows what the salary cap is going to be? It certainly will be a lot less than 9.8M. He’s signed a contract for 2.1M over 3 years apparently. I assume the Knights will have to offload a lot of freight first too!Liverpool_Bulldog wrote:

I can't process in my head how any contract negotiations could be taking place at all at the moment. I think there's a 0-0.1% chance the NRL recommences in 2020 and who knows what on earth it'll look like if/when it recommences in 2021? Hardly smooth ground for future contract negotiations.
Regarding your post previous to this one - not popular opinions putting those out there, but I do agree.

I think you mean Lemmings. Just to show my age, I don’t play video games but used to spend my night shifts playing Lemmings.quicksand wrote:

The Pascoe Fiasco wrote:Can anyone remember what happened to the previous viruses? SARS and Bird Flu etc were also going to go crazy then they just disappeared. It would appear that if no vaccine comes around then we are going to have to expect that the only thing that will get any country back to anything approaching normal is by most of the population actually getting the disease and building up an immunity. This unfortunately will result in a very large death toll, but it will work eventually. I work in a hospital so I assume it is only a matter of time before I get it. I am not all that worried really. The kids should be fine if they get it. Of course a vaccine would avoid all of this, but that is a year to 18 months away. I feel for all those people who are out of work. This shit is going to go on for a very long time. I just can’t see how so many people can stay out of work and pay their bills, put food on the table etc. Eventually we are all going to come out of these lock downs out of necessity. I would much rather prefer to risk the virus than starve or lose my house etc. on a brighter note, got some toilet paper today! Who’d have thought 3 months ago how exciting it could be to find toilet paper in your supermarket! It’s amazing just how shit life has become in the last 8 weeks. Good luck everybody, and make sure you check on your friends and neighbours!
The herd immunity type option you mean.. thankfully no one has opted for this approach on a large scale, or have they already ??
SARS and Swine had their impact, the numbers are huge but easily forgotten once life goes on etc. Aside from a vaccine, the lockdown approach seems to work if u get on it early and don't mess around with stages etc.
No other country has had to can the lockdown and open up out of necessity yet. But some are very fortunate to have a continuing job and less financial pressure than others.
The one pack of toilet rolls I have been able to get a hold of was a 4 pack from Aldi last week, and it was a 'Jumbo' type, is the only one I have been able to find in the past 4-5 weeks. But plenty of alternative options in the house, tissues, kitchen paper etc.
Cheers Pasco, stay strong mate.

As MS mentioned changing know sets the loses in stone. You really just have to take the long term view and wait it out.
The time to change things was a couple of months back. My wife has more super than me and we change hers to 80% cash 3 months back. We will be changing some of that back to balanced growth once things have stabilized.
What made u switch 3 months ago ? Are u closer to retirement than your galavanting bird snaps suggest ?

Guys just remember that tissues/kitchen paper isn't designed for flushing and is going to create big plumbing headaches down the track if you flush it.
Same goes for "flushable" wipes, which despite the name, aren't generally flushable

On a related note, interesting thought saw earlier

Because if people who already have kids are stuck at home with them 24/7, the last thing on their mind is making more of the fuckers.

Backup alternative here, highly unlikely to be used @Milchcow
