Teams coming in now, a few popular players but lots of variety which is good.

I'm just building the sheet this weekend to calculate scores and price changes.

I think I should be able to include captaincy scores, will confirm by the end of the weekend.
Ah crap .... starts rebuilding team

    OK
So this is what the weekly summary will look like for price changes/BEs

    NRLFF 2006 Fantasy thread - part 2 Let's get ready to rumble - Page 3 Test_s11

    The columns
    are
    Name
    Price at start of round
    Round Score
    Price at end of round
    BE for next round
    Current season average
Price change next round if they score their average (note this is expected change for the next round, not change for the round that just happened)

I will only run price changes every game round, but they may have more than 1 NRL round score included in them (This should make changes smaller than running 2 individual price changes one after the other)

Obviously the scores I've put in are made up - but this should give a bit of an idea as to what a range of scores will do to expensive players

    Any questions or comments

Might have to play with magic number - price changes seem excessively large

I will almost certainly cap weekly price changes. value TBA somewhere between $50 and $100k in a round

Don't want guys going up or down $150k at a time.

I'm not sure I like a cap on price changes - unless you do it via a calc that impacts all players. A max cap on $ movement creates an advantage/disadvantaged. I'm massively hungover so I might not be understanding or explaining very well

Mattnz found 3 players named in round 1 not on the sheet

Andrew Price, St George, 2RF, $246k (34 appearances for Newcastle over previous 3 years. but only 2 games in 2005 both off the bench)

Ben Jones , Canberra, 2RF, $246k (no appearances prior 2006)

Shane Perry, Brisbane HLF, $296k (last played NRL 2001, but gets a starting half price bump)

I did see Jones missing but decided a starting 2RF probably won’t get enough minutes to be a factor anyway.

If we do 2 rounds at once, then its quite possible for players who put up a big score or small score to raise/fall massive amounts in 1 go.

Don't want people to get screwed too badly by having someone dud it and lose $200k in 1 whack

Wondering if 3 trades instead of 2 helps alleviate that. If you look at 2020 as an example, after 2 rounds you could have many bad selections / injuries / dropped players to deal with, more than 2 trades would allow you to resolve.

3 trades every 2 rounds give 36 for the season, which is closer to what you get now. I primarily happy to go with whatever makes Milch's life easiest, but if it doesn't add work I think lets cop the massive price swings and have the extra trade?

Right now main thinking is trying not to have the comp almost decided in the first few weeks by having people who pick the right cash cows jump massively ahead of everyone in cash.
Will have a think before deciding.

So far have only simulated first round fully, might to do the next few rounds to see what sort of things might happen

Hi Milchcow, thanks for organising this, looks awesome! Can't wait to get started.

I might have missed it, but is there a schedule for the season in terms of Gameweeks for the Fantasy game (you mentioned that some Gameweeks might include more than one NRL round, but I couldn't see that you posted what the schedule is).

    Thanks Smile

Have not done ANY research, just picked names I know that are good players or who had reasonable stints in fantasy. Not convinced I'll go well in this one!

Really looking forward to it kicking off though, thanks Milchy. Much appreciated.

I think the confusion is on whether every game week will have 2 nrl rounds (which is different to "some game weeks might include more than 1 NRL round")

Sorry answered a different question to what you asked

NRL round 1 is game week 1

After that each game week is planned to have 2 NRL rounds, but is subject to change depending on how we are travelling

Ah ok, I hadnt understood that either, so as a starting point (subject to change):
    Game week 1 - Round 1
    2 Trades available
    Game week 2 - Round 2 and Round 3
    2 Trades available
    Game week 3 - Round 4 and Round 5
    2 trades available
    etc
