People forget how good players before them actually were because it was a different game back then! Absolute regret missing on some of these players! Same as the Welsh union teams in the 70s just a joy to watch

I've got a new found appreciation for Matt Gidley aswell. Thought he was just a bloke on the end of a lucky backline but gee he had some quality footwork

Yeah he was a top quality centre in his day. Went very well when he went over to the UK too, iirc.
