    What religion forbids flu shots?

I don't think it's any one religion, but I've been seeing a lot of religious people online saying that God gave our bodies everything we need to combat viruses and taking anything from a real doctor is considered interfering with God's plan, though there seem to be some God-approved herbal medicines or something. Not sure what the rules are on what's considered natural or unnatural.

Then there's the conspiracy theories that the vaccines are tainted and are designed to weaken immune systems, cause autism and all this other shit as part of depopulation/keeping the common man down, Bill Gates (a major donater to the WHO) is literally Satan and fuck knows what else.

Seems to be a strong religious link with all the conspiracies around covid-19, anti-vaxx, 5G, Bill Gates and whatever else. All that's missing are the lizard people.

If all these players are stood down, fantasy would need to restart with unlimited trades, maybe just keep points from first 2 rounds.

Yeah, I think some of them are going to have an amazing reversal of opinion before May 28 if the govt seriously forces the issue.

It just cracks me up because all these guys would have no hesitation taking a painkiller needle at HT to finish a game.

Speaking of the government forcing the issue, Chris Garry reporting Cartwright, Peats and Brian Kelly stood down by QLD government for refusing flu shot

But Peats is saying he’ll get it this afternoon

What is specific about those players? or is it just increasing weight of numbers that you think would lead to justifying a wildcard?

As MTB said, I think a lot of these players will come around once they realise it means playing/not playing.

I am not sure which would be worse, only 2 trades, or wildcard for everyone. Hopefully they don't go either of those.

Boot Manly from the comp I say Twisted Evil

Haven't been keeping up with news, just heard of the injury, is DFifita an auto-trade right now?

Depends on how many issues your team has + how many trades given

Personally I'm trading him out regardless of amount of trades, don't like keeping that much money in EMG for 3-4 weeks and can easily upgrade to a multitude of guns

Weight of numbers and the reason for them not playing. It’s not like they got injured.

On return from injury a high chance he isn’t an automatic 80 minute player any longer

I'd like to see the statistics and research which shows how many NRL player or associates of NRL players have been admitted to hospital in the past because an NRL player did not get a flu shot. I don't need stats by year... an overall number from the last 100 years would be fine. If we're getting this ridiculous, I assume there must be something to back up this kind of madness?

It's like forcing all NRL players to shave their heads so there is not an outbreak of hair lice amongst players and their families.

I know that's stupid, but it's never been an issue in the history of the NRL so why would it be now? In fact, even more so now, with the strict new cleaning and temperature testing measures etc. I just don't get what having the flu shot changes in the NRL world. You can still get the flu and you can still pass the flu on after a flu shot. It just makes your personal experience with it less displeasing.

NRL Fantasy 2020 part 22 - The one where we all come back - Page 14 Giphy

But, all that said. If we're getting ridiculous and that's the way the NRL is going, why the fuck does it have to turn into such a massive issue, like everything?

"Sorry kids, Daddy doesn't have a job anymore and there will be no dinner tonight because my stupid fucking God doesn't want me to get a flu shot."

What are these guys actually potentially risking? Their 2020 season and income? Or their career? I don't know, but is this compulsory flu shot temporary or will this be a new regulation of the game? Is it meant to just be in effect while Covid-19 exists, or is it permanent?

Apologies for the rant... just need to get this stuff out my head.

"We respect the government because they have assisted us all the way through on our target day of May 28," V’landys told AAP.

"But in the protocols we had approved by government it allowed us to allow players not to vaccinate on cultural and religious reasons.

So who benefits assuming those 9 players are stood down?

Manly - Keppie? Jurbo possibly doing more work in the middle

    Raiders - Guler and Horse

Titans - Titans fans? Cartwright out is a blessing hahaha. Could also see Leleisuao getting a gig with Kelly and Watkins both gone and Sami fb

Bulldogs - JMK still gonna get 80 mins, not much change there

Feel free to chime in with anything I missed

Would expect big winner at manly to be waddell, maybe 60+ minutes as a big minute starter.

Would love leleisiaou getting a start, straight in my team, but titans just signed tonomopeaia (spelling?) What happened to kelly?

    Who is out for bulldogs?

I've heard getting the flu shot increases your chances of getting covid cos your immune is down temporarily while fighting the flu jab. Whatever the case flu shot has naught to do with covid it shouldn't be mandatory
