It’s the ultimate conundrum- to be a premiership threat you need a combination of good players, but as soon as you unearth or nurse a new talent you can’t afford to keep them anymore because they demand a piece of the salary cap the club doesn’t have to spare. Premiership windows are so small these days, sometimes just one season- which probably explains why nobody goes back to back and also why the Roosters are the first team to do it in a long time.

Just because it’s common practice to flout contracts doesn’t make it any more right, it’s just normalising a blight on the game. It’s hard enough for clubs to navigate the jigsaw puzzle of rosters without player managers getting in players’ ears telling them to act disgruntled and holding them over a barrel for more money.

For a lot of agents they don’t even bother with that mate. It’s all their own dealing with the club/s and their own press stirring. For better or worse, players are told not much more than trying to get them a pay bump (of which of course no player is going to say “please dont”)
Sometimes just gotta go where the salary cap is bigger -

I don’t think Dan should trade out Cleary. He’s gonna be a season long keeper and he’s only out 2 weeks so that’s a hold on Cleary for mine.White Lightning wrote:
I would keep Levi & trade out Cleary & Watkins along with the 2 you have mentioned. Cleary to a wfb (via Drinkwater). I would also sell Watkins to a wfb & move Shiba to npr's. Cleary to Isaako & Watkins to Turbo/Tedesco

Better than Whare on attack and better than Naden in defence. Hoping he gets a starting spot.Holy Moly wrote:Does anyone rate S Crichton as a good chance of holding his bench spot?

Your team is so similar to mine mate. You have 19 out of 21 that I have except I have Knight over Levi and Wiliame whilst you have Lomax. I have around 75k spare though so a bit more than you do.danseels1985 wrote:Any ideas what to do here guys?
Have no cash in the bank so have decided on Fifita and Williams to Tolo and Grant so far but Levi and Watkins need to be shifted also.Any suggestions would be great.
Koro
Haas Carrigan
Fifita Katoa Leilua
Moses Cleary
Aubusson Lomax
Papy Shibasaki Drinkwater
Levi
Brailey
Walters
Williams
Watkins
Luai
JTB
Rudolf
The Fifita to Lolo and Williams to Grant trades are ones I’ll definitely make. The other potential 2 trades are pending TLT.
I’m looking at Watkins to Fogarty mate tbh as he’s basement price and there is little risk involved. I’m keeping an eye though on Magoulias. Hopoate will only get 3 weeks so he’s too short term for mine.
If Aubbo is benched I’ll be looking to trade him out shift Shiba to centre and bring in Tommy T or Teddy.
If Aubbo starts then I can hold Knight another week just like you can do with Levi or we could pull the trigger. For mine I can see why White Lightning is bringing in guys like Twal and Yeo but for mine I don’t think I want to risk trading them in and then having to trade them out again down the line if they don’t average keeper like scores. I got burnt by Twal last season too so am a bit wary. I do not think he will keep seeing 60-65mins either. I would prefer to bring a Taupau or Matterson in a proven keeper. If cash is an issue though for you the best available to bring in would be Twal or Yeo for Levi.
Thoughts mate on what I’ve said? Have you anything to add back at me as well that I may not have thought of?
P.s... I wouldn’t trade Cleary, I’d hold.

Williams to Grant is great, but the other 2 kind of imo are like wasting the trades as they’re sideways moves. Like you are going a mid ranger to another mid ranger. Ideally you wanna be upgrading from mid ranger to a keeper. Can you post your squad please mate?Raudonikis's Wet Ciggies wrote:I don't know if I'm hitting the mark on these trades

I think we will see more surprises at TLT than expected. Teams are training in private, which is where most of the information comes from normally.

Trading dfifita and keeping cleary. Atleast we know clearly is back in two weeks and will be raring to go.
Initial trades pre teams and research..
Dfifita bburns and Kennedy out
Grant holmes marsters in
Could go turbo but went holmes due to the boys draw over the next few weeks. Will probably end up going turbo by tlt!
Thoughts?

Depends on Walters role, if he sticks around on bench some decent money to still be made from him and likely 1 unity away from Major cash makingPat69err wrote:Anyone else trading billy Walters out if Harry grant gets the start?

Are Walters and Grant likely to share the hooking role, or is Walters likely to slip into the halves from the bench. What sort of mins are they likely to play as a split ?

Anyone know if there is truth to a rumour going round that some Dragons players have been stood down? A friend of mine mentioned it, and I believe he in turn read it on FB. So could be a load of shite...

-1 BE isn’t it.
Assuming he is 14-17, he can stay in my 18-21 for a good while yet
