Not gonna lie it's taken me a looooooong time to catch up again lol

    My very unsolicited 2 cents:

    - Reading through the threads after the games, a lot of very unlucky picks this week, but they're gonna happen
    - Each round is so much more important now we have a shortened season. Can't wait for fallen guns, dud cows or rising cows
    - New ruck rules are great for the speed of the game which is great. High tackle counts, great opportunities for line breaks and tackle busts... But that means middle men getting gassed and missing tackles is a risk. But net positive in scoring
    - One ref rule- controversial, but I'm not sure I like it. I've noticed a lot more offside infringements occurring without getting pulled up. I think teams will learn to exploit this over time
    - Very good having the Warriors dominating the Dragons. 40 consecutive completed sets, and holding a team scoreless in Australia for the first time in years
    - How good is Benji leading the boys around the park?!
    - Raiders put on a superb performance. Storm looked flustered on attack... They need an organising half to let Munster play his natural game, though great for his points regardless. Papy looked hungry around the ruck which is good but without a coherent attack he's been limited in his opportunities. Still, very happy with a 50
    - How good was Moeaki?! Absolute beast. Quite difficult to fit him in a side with Haas and Carrigan though. Loving the way Titans are playing, but definitely need to work on their execution. Sami and Kelly were great. Even Fogarty looked threatening, just didn't translate to fantasy at all.
    - Trade in targets: Mc9, Teddy, Cook
    - Cheeky options: Kodi - New format seemed to suit him plus he's got kicking duties. Concerning defence, plus Dragons didn't play their best game. Turpin- Same as Kodi, new rules should benefit him when he's not tackling his guts out. And when he doesn't have to defend so much he can gain some attacking stats.
    - So good to have the footy back!!! Great to be back on here too guys. Hope everyone is keeping safe

Someone on Reddit mentioned that without massive travel, Warriors might start putting in better performances. Could be a good point, but will have to wait and see

Based on my predictions I had him making more cash than a 50 odd minute performance from Grant. Didn't expect a try from Grant or Moylan to play lock. For now looks like I'll be burying Magoulias at 21 and waiting for the talent to shine through while he gets that slow burn

Capewell and Mann are in less teams than I expected, so will need some big scores along with Turbo and Luai today

To have a good fantasy mind like you also pick up Mag is a bit more comforting. I think at the end of the day there's no point in sacrificing another trade to get him out. Bit of a blunder but essentially just going to have him in the 18-21 anyway, you never know what's gonna happen with that Sharks forward pack, particularly with Fifi and Graham. I'd rather have blundered on a cow than an underperforming mid-ranger played in the 17 that you stick with for a few weeks before ditching.

    Onwards and upwards

Matty Johns podcast mentioned this and mentioned the Western Reds. For the first 4-6 weeks players were excited, after that having to travel so often wears on you as a player which can lead to some sluggish performances. I think this will mean a few different impacts

    - For the Warriors playing 20 minutes from home base will dramatically improve their preparation. In the past we have gotten a few games a year where the Warriors just do not show up. I expect we won't see that this year with a lot more competitive games
    - If they do have to play an away game in Sydney it's about an hour and a half. As long as it isn't a Friday night game traffic won't be an issue so should be a reasonably comfortable ride
    - Teams like Melbourne, Cowboys, Raiders that have to travel most week will start to wear down. At the moment they aren't allowed to stay in hotels under NRL agreement, which means they have to fly to the location with enough time so a flight delay doesn't mean missing kick off, sit around for a few hours waiting for the game to start, fly back and then head back home. By the time you have done all this it's 2-3am and you have a morning recovery session the next day. Will start to take it's toll with no byes

NRL Physio: John Morris has indicated that Andrew Fifita missed tonight as he continues to manage his chronic knee complaint. Cited B2B games makes it tough to plan workload; with ongoing issues load management of vital importance. Concerning it’s still affecting him after ~ 10 week season break

Great point. Definitely think the travel element is underestimated in general. However, they won more away games last year than home ones haha

777c here, Koro Levi Cape Luai to play. 6k so far for the round, 2k overall. Middle of the pack with some big scorers out there. Good teams lads!

And good post above there Rapture, and I agree that policing the 10 is going to start causing dramas. Tight balance ahead between fast rucks and slowing defensive lines.

    B. Hunt scoring 65 & was basically playing on 1 leg & on a badly beaten team. That usually means a low score so I'm very impressed.

It’s like we haven’t seen footy in 10 weeks, so the react is: wow so fast, how good is footy back!

In 3-4 weeks everyone is going to be: wait a minute, the entire game is being played offside...

In 7-8 weeks it’ll be back to normal and everyone will be howling about the referees and the rules being the worst ever and how the game is absolutely stuffed.

Not from reddit, but for the same reason, Canberra might struggle after a while. They have to travel for every game, even "home" ones are a 2 hour drive away and they have to travel there and back on game day.

They'll be chomping at the bit for actual home games ASAP

760k was a bit too much for the risk, but I said here pre-season I think he can outscore Moses. I think HLF is going to be like last season... 8-10 options and just have to luck into them at the right time. Cleary probably still #1 overall though on a ppg basis

Thought a bit more would’ve jumped on Capewell. 1.9% ownership. I guess people had other urgent trades

I can't believe some think that whatever happens in one round is set in stone for the remainder of the season. First season following Nrl anyone ? Just as one example, those that brought magoo in are probably going to reap the benefits sooner or later anyway.

This is why I'm not concerned about him as a trade in. Sure he didn't get the score I wanted, but is more talented than Sorensen and arguably Williams. By the time he actually gets a decent role he will be that awkward mid range price that you don't really want to trade in. Having another slow burner with loop potentially certainly won't hurt

    729/12c

    To come:

    Koroisau
    Luai
    Capewell
    Mann
    Shiba

1000 would be nice but will only happen if Koro and Luai have big games.
