Even after putting up a few monsters to start the year he is still only averaging 3 above his starting price, let's pump the brakes. Worth noting he got benched straight after missing a one on on tackle on Liu up the middle that lead to a try. Seibold has clearly seen it's better for the team to give Haas a spell and bring him back fresh at the end of the game
I'm not 100% convinced Haas was pulled for the MT, although it probably contributed. He only missed one tackle out of 53, albeit a critical one. Everyone bar Oates missed 1 or more tackles. I think it was possibly a case of not wanting to destroy him for no reason in a heavy loss - and give some others some time in the middle. Think it was Ponga Yeo The Mann (apologies if wrong) who said he wasn't all that impressed with Payne's game and I kind of agree - it was like he was told to conserve himself in attack. He did a mountain of defence every set but even when we finally had the ball he didn't take a hit up in multiple sets early on. Took a few crabbing runs late. I remember last year same thing happened and I think maybe it's a direction from Seibs. Not sure why you wouldn't take a few charges through the middle with such a large human but he is only 20 and it is easy to forget that. Props don't usually hit their peak until mid 20's.
With regards to Milford - it's not just his lack of input (which is hard without the ball but he could at least have some kind of crack), but the stupid penalties, six again's and slow play the balls he continues with. He gave away a 5th tackle six again early in the game when momentum was critical, then the penalty on our line, and whenever he gets tackled he carries on and won't play the ball. Needs a kick up the ass.
