It’s not so much that that was a weird period, more than the rule changes appear to have had unexpected CTR impacts.

Last year I’d have given your left nut for a 35-35 CTR pairing week in, week out.
Year before I think, last year I started with Bateman and Nikora.

I think it is more a change in player availability. Guys like Wiliame didn't improve with the new rules. Mitchell got fit, Crichton started, Capewell and Best were available.

BTW, if giving out nuts, start with your own, not mine!

No idea, Dragons had played the day before TLT and Mary's head was on the chopping block on the day that the team was named, after a bad loss to Bulldogs. I said at the time that whatever they name as their playing team won't be who lines up.

    Sorry if this isn’t correct

    My plan is

    Highest scorer I can afford
2nd highest scorer I can afford
3rd highest scorer I can afford
4th highest scorer I can afford

Rely on 18-21 for missing positional cover.

    realisitically will probably be
    Grant
    Carrigan
    ?
    ?

I'd probably like 2 extra hookers in there - likes of Cook, Smith, McInnes but relies having the $$ in trades to get them in which might not happen

Taupau might end up being one of them once he comes back from injury if he drops a bit, probably a few others that will drop in price over the next 2 months and look tempting

There are quite a few on here (me included) that have concerns over Fui's long term job security, whether or not he plays this week.

Plus Tariq having surgery probably shortens his recover time 1-2 weeks less than what originally thought.

I feel like I’ve just got about 14-17 sorted: Koro, Grant, Carrigan, TBA

    My problem is 1-13

Could even be Lucy/Katoa in that spot.

Yeah I’m looking at that exact setup so far. Just need to tinker with that 1-13

If you were going to bring in Fui ideally you would trade someone like Wiliame in same team so you know for sure he's starting besides the other job security issues people have mentioned

New rules are impacting some positions more than others.
Hookers are gunning it this season. 75 is the new 60.
In FRF and 2RF 65 is the new 55.
Halves don't appear to have changed much so far.
Premium CTRs and WFBs gunning it in small sample size, while lesser mortals haven't been significantly impacted.

I am less likely to buy a 3rd half like DCE as they cost too much for their output this season, Moses and Cleary who I already have appear to be exceptions so far. Likely run Drinkwater as a HLF/WFB backup and maybe loop him (Wiliame may stay in my team the whole season if dropped).

I have been concentrating on premium, value forwards, like Yeo, Twal, Mofo, so guys like Carrigan, Mofo and Hess are bench options next to Grant, probably eventually get to upgrade Hess to a premium hooker to complete the team, once I have added Ponga and Teddy.

    Except maybe Aubbs Love

Which pack (as a whole unit) would you pick to play for your life tomorrow? A champion team will generally beat a team of champions. The Broncs have plenty of individual brilliance and a very bright future but they aren’t exactly a feared cohesive unit at the moment. We’ve been out muscled several times in the last two seasons even with all hands on deck.

I’m as one eyed as the next Broncs fan but Roosters pack has the runs on the board, so much so Angus Crichton struggles to get a run!

Legend, hope they don't forget how bad he played before the injury.

Ramsey could be interesting in a few weeks, was electric at the 9s

Can you gun/cow this week? Generally preferable to cow/cow + cash

I'd say you're game back flipping on Teddy as i can see him going huge this week all fresh and all after that week off and up against the Dogs

Well obviously you would have the Roosters play for your life. They have the game experience and the cohesion from several seasons with few changes. But the Broncos still have the better roster IMO, more talented individuals (and no doubt taking up a much higher salary cap space). They may not be playing as well together, but they are still the better forward pack. I think at this point we all need to just agree to disagree!
