I’ve got Haas, Teddy, Ponga, Cleary and Moses of that lot.robelgordo wrote:Ok I've spent an exhaustive 5 minutes researching this, then 15 more writing it up...
My official GUN RANKINGS pew pew pew
~the best fantasy players, current price/value be damned~
1. Haas - doesn't ever have a bad score, 10pts minimum per game more than 2nd best FRF
2. Teddy - Most reliable WFB, or back in general. Decent gap to #2 WFB IMO
3. Ponga - Even bigger gap between #2 WFB and #3 WFB IMO
4. Lolo - even with inflated scores across the board comfortably the best 2RF, although you could probably get away without having him all season. You wouldn't feel great about it though.
5. McInnes - this is provisional... only 3 game sample and more gun-heavy position. But output insane right now, if he can average 75ish+ longer-term moves to #2. If he comes back to <65ish he's back at the end of the line with Smith, Cook.
6/7/8. Cleary/DCE/Moses (in some order) - some have 2 already, pretty much everyone has 1, I'm the idiot rolling with none. Probs needs at least one at some point - but there are options only 5-ish PPG less. I mean Kurt Mann is fairly solid!
9. Twal - an 80 minute error-free tackling machine about to get DPP.
T10. Smith/Cook
At the start of the season I wanted two of McInnes and these two guys by the end. Ideally all three. But there's Koro, Grant, Macca, Robson, Friend - so do you really need it?

I like DCE too, especially since with Walker at 6, DCE is doing all the kicking, but I worry that his lack of goal kicking will make him average less than Cleary and Moses over the season. At this point, I might just sell Arrow to Lolo next week and keep the Croft/Mann gravy train going for a few more weeks.

I think Taupau is going to be a must-have buy for those who don't have three keepers with FRF status in a couple of weeks when his price bottoms out.
I have Haas, MoFo, Carrigan already and not enough trades to go sideways so might have to pass on him unless the rest of my squad magically balances itself out.
Yeah there's always going to be a couple of injury-affected guns to pick up to make the other stubborn pricks who's price won't move more affordable. Maybe some sinbins with those being handed out more liberally, coupled with a rare off-game ala Cam Smith a couple of years back. Taumalolo copped an injury early last season for a rough score, McInnes and Bateman a couple of others.

Re: NRL Fantasy 2020 Part 40 - First
I'm still targetting Pearce as a cheap potential-keeper. His kicking metres being up with Mann next to him + potential of some good attacking stats with the Knights ticking along nicely... Even if he averages as low as 50 and he's not a top-tier half - he's still value and that's good enough for me.
Will be pretty close to a straight swap from Paix to him. Dependant on team lists I will most likely downgrade Luai to get him in. I will probably need an extra $100k or so on top of what I have in the kitty.

That's definitely my intended plans too. No 2RF puts a spanner in the works for that plan but considering still running with 16 for a week as I don't think there's many good cheap 2RF options.

My loose plan is Luai + Drunkmaster to Pearce and cow. Fingers crossed indeed

R11 is plenty of time to see a drop. I am watching the weather forecasts each week, just need a couple of wet games in a rowCamo123 wrote:The one thing that ended up making me decide Teddy over Ponga is Roosters have Warriors, Titans & Dragons consecutively from R11
I couldn't handle that as a non-owner of Teddy and given his price is going to go up before it goes down, I felt I had to pick him up before I couldn't

They got Dragons next week. I am still worried about him getting a rest (3rd game in 12 days) but he had rest when he went over temperature

Multiple reports have suggested Cronulla lock Billy Magoulias is a possible option, while News Limited is reporting Parramatta prop Daniel Alvaro and Newcastle middle forward Herman Ese’ese are also in the mix.

Ok so I think I’ve shifted my focus away from McInnes. Which option sounds better?
Option 1: Tedesco and Clune+119k in bank
Option 2: Mitchell and Foto-leaves 86k in bank
Option 1 requires Averillo to play lol whereas Option 2 means no Teddy

Terrible straight-to-TV movie and yes, super grim unnecessary ending. :/

Re: NRL Fantasy 2020 Part 40 - First
Next weeks predicted discussion points; Money is tight, we missed Pearce but Reynolds is on the rise, who is gonna average more by end of season. Is Papenhuyzen to RTS too sideways, but we are just so sick of waiting for him to explode. Is it time to put the trade queue in the rack for a few rounds?
