I know I am a Storm supporter through and through, but trying to be very unbiased on this. Looking at the footage it doesn’t appear to be a knock on. He always has possession of the ball, with two hands, before playing it?

If you look at that link and all the twitter posts I think everyone saw it as a knock on. Thought it was sketchy live, but was just so into the game I brushed past it.

At the ruck they call that a knock on every day of the week. Surely Roosters could have challenged it if they had one remaining?StormTrooper96 wrote:

I didn’t notice it in the game too much, all I noticed is Friend pushing Smith just before Pap kicked the field goal in normal time so it could’ve been a penalty then as well. (I’m not talking about the one in GP). Rorters were 4 metres offside most of the night anyway and with all the penalties you gave away in a row I’m shocked one of your guys was not sin binned.KingTeddy wrote:How good! Anyhow Souths lost the game to Shoncos back in Round 2 and Staggs knocked on over the try line and they awarded it but I didn’t complain as the better team won.
You need to accept you had your chances and 19 errors is too many to make.

yes, the Roosters were clearly robbed. Why don't you tweet fanhub and see if they can change the result for you.

NRL will probably let them challenge it now even without a challenge remaining. Hasnt been 10 seconds yet....

This is irrelevant?
Honestly yes it looked like he slipped but does not look like he lost possession of it at all.

even Milf doesn't carry on this much the day after a game, your lot get the benefit of the doubt from refs in every other game, I get that it's Melbourne, but surely you can just let it go knowing that you'll get your 14th man back in no time at all.

Little known fact about rugby league, the way the ruck is refereed is not understood by the general public
Every single play the ball is judged to have a winner and a loser. The more you dominate the ruck, as either attack or defender, the more leeway you get on the play the ball. In this instance Smith is able to roll onto his front, while Crichton and Friend are not able to force him down. This results in Smith being entitled to a quick play the ball, having earned it in the ruck. This is pretty close to the exact opposite of where the defense enforces a dominant tackle, however the referee does not call these for the attacking side. What this means, is that despite the play the ball not looking very pretty, it is in fact a legal play the ball

There’s your problem then. Two hands are needed for reliable trading.
You’d be better off giving the old chap a low five first and then trading.
Although I guess kudos on finding the, uh, motivation in NRL Fantasy to finish the job at all? No kink-shaming here.

Looking at Captain Cook with the banner gives me the motivation to finish all the time

This. I go to games all the time and you have Jeff who watches his team religously every week and is a deadset supporter when his team is winning that yell out "HOW LONG REF!!!" after Every tackle. Little does Jeff know that there a multiple types of finishes to a tackle such as a surrender, the defence winning the tackle or the offence winning the tackle. If the offence wins the tackle the defence is entitled to peel away from the ruck almost instantly, if the defence wins the tackle they get a little longer and even longer still with a surrender but Jeff doesn’t know this so he continues to insist that the referee go to Specsavers as “they” have been doing it all game.
