Most recent post from NRL Physio expecting R13-R14

AJ Brimson has resumed running & is aiming to return in Round 13-14 as he continues rehab from a spinal fracture. Would be a 3 month return to play after his spinal stress fracture progressed to a true fracture

I feel like if I didn't own Fog and was looking at HLF in that range (mid-range cow) I would probably lean Wakeham over Fog

They both have similar averages (38.6 Fogarty, 38.3 Wakeham) and base stats (Fogarty 21 tackles, 2 MT, 240 KM & Wakeham 23 tackles, 3.3 MT, 258 KM) but Fogarty already past 150k rises while Wakeham hasn't made as much yet

Don't know if that actually makes any sense or if it is right thinking

Last season Sydney FC members got a free big mac the day after any home win - and if it wasn't free I wouldn't have got one.
    Wouldn't pay for that rubbush

Looking at all the 2RF value coming up, seriously looking at this being my final team. Relies on Liu getting lock and Dearden starting (has to happen at some point).

    Interested to hear peoples thoughts.

    Grant
    Twal Mofo
    Crichton (C) Tevaga Fifita
    Cleary Flanagan
    SMat Crichton
    Teddy Ponga Wiliame (loop)
    Koro Yeo Robson Liu
    Dearden HTF Niu Sironen

Gives me a great POD forward pack, strong halves, decent backs, great bench with some cover for each position.

A player's starting price is meaningless in deciding who to buy. Ideally you would never look at price history when deciding whether to buy someone or not.

Someone who started at $600k but now costs $450k but expected to score 40s is exactly the same as someone who started at $300k but now costs $450k and is expected to score 40s (maybe short term differences in BEs)

I do think there is some difference. I am less likely to bring in Lomax or Mann at $200k more than a large number of others paid for them. Less concerned about paying $200k more for a POD that very few have and is looking like a serious gun, like Crichton.

Isaac Liu's long term average at lock is 36, and he is priced at 33.

He's not cheap enough to be a cashout and I'm sure you can get better final 17 scorers/

All the others are good. Although I have some concerns about Tevaga's fitness and certainly won't be jumping on him straight away when he finally gets named, but will keep an eye on him.

Would switch Haas to Crichton plus cash. If he keeps playing like that, will at least match a 65 minute Haas for the rest of the season and serious POD (4%) as captain vs Haas in 99% of top teams.

How many weeks would it take to put that together based on your current team?

Agree, would wait for Tevaga to be getting big minutes at lock before bringing him in.

Liu is scoring 30 points in 30 minutes at the moment, if getting 50+ minutes at lock, should be getting 45+. Plenty of other examples of the new fast game significantly improving output of players, SMat, Crichton etc.

3 weeks. Most of it is there now, just switching a few things around as players become available and get up to fitness.

    These things are psychological only

You can't go back in time to buy someone cheaper, its not meaningful to their current value. If Lomax is good value at $500k, then he is good value whether he was $300k a month ago or $700k. If he isn't good value at $500k then don't bring him in no matter what he started at.

I mean if someone was creating a team today, there's no way you'd tell them to avoid Harry Grant because he used to be so much cheaper. he's still one of the best value players there is.

People generally use dropped cash as a proxy for scores being under potential, which is fine. If someone used to cost $800k its generally because they had scores to justify it, so if they now cost cheaper and you think they can resume/start scoring at the levels that saw them at $800k then they are potentially a good purchase. But in this case it would not be the lost cash itself that is the reason for why they would be a good pick.
Eg Taupau is on watchlists not strictly because he lost cash, but because he can score at a lot higher than what he is priced at. but this would be true whether he was available at $650k because of losing cash or whether he somehow just magically appeared in the system starting at this price.
