Regardless of Cowboys new coach I think Robson has done his job and can move to Hunt.

    Weird having Hunt and Norman

Who knows, new coach/caretaker may like an 80 min hooker..

Or Cotter on the bench this week was actually what the caretaker wanted, given Green already knew he was gone.

Siro getting a starting opp would really help my 2RF situation. Looking forward to the excitement until my dreams get crushed 4pm Tues

Hmmm yeah it’s a tough one.

I can’t really find another way to get Hunt in

Playing second for the round should help us figure it out.

Thoughts on my trades? I want to hold Angus but if I do, then I'm forced to play three of Niu/Talau/Luai/HTF/Field . On the other hand, I only have 9 trades left and really don't want to use two this week if I can help it.

That said, if I do sell Angus, I think my plan is Angus -> Cleary and Field -> McIntyre. I'm picking McIntyre over Starling because he covers 2RF and if I sell Angus for Cleary, I'm forced to play Carrigan at 2RF and would have zero cover in either FRF or 2RF. I need a second gun half anyway, and if Angus is out more than 3-ish weeks, then my best bet is to get Cleary now before he gets up past 950k.

Would leave me with 7 trades, 64k ITB and the following side

    Grant
    Haas, Fotu
    Carrigan, Lolo, Yeo
    Cleary, Flanagan
    Lomax, Crichton
    Ponga, Papy, Teddy

    Api, Luai, Mann, Talau

    McIntyre, HTF, Niu, Averillo

Trying to remember how many trades I had post Origin last year to get gauge on how screwed I am. I think I had 5 for last 8 rounds, and then used last one in R21

Using 2 trades last week has messed me up hard

I have a log of my trades that I update every week, started it last year.

Just went and had a look and I had 5 trades after round 16, then used one in R17, 18 and 19 respectively, then held my last two till round 22 when I used them both that week and ran with no trades to the end. I got caught out in the end though and was forced to play 16 (I think, might have been 15 even) in the last round thanks to losing Munster, McInnes and Bateman.

    Grant
    Hass MoFo
    Carrigan Lolo Havili
    DCE Flanagan
    Crichton Best
    Lomax Ted Ponga

    Koro Hunt Mann Aloiai
    Starling Young Mcintyre Hetherington

traded XCoates to Starling and Brailey to Ponga
    6 trades left 73k ITB Rank = 3010

looking at running this team for a few weeks just light on cover at the back with Mcintyre to cover the 5 positions via my 3 DPP backs, gonna let injuries determine my next moves so let the carnage begin and at this stage I will be happy with getting into the top 1000

Luai to the best cow is probably a go this week. Play Talau instead of Niu. And hope Butcher is back.

All things to think about this week

It felt like post origin last year, there was a bit more certainly around who made up a 'best 17' for the run home.

Obviously no 17 is perfect until hindsight, but this year there are all sorts of players throwing their hand up of late.. there's Hunt right now, Tevaga if he starts, Dave Fifita and Twal when they return, Moses still to come back from injury, Crichton now busted but could be a gun in the last 6 weeks or so.

Not that many players even have Cook, and then there is ever reliable CS9 who is basically an after thought.

    Pretty interesting.

    Or Nathiano Leileary?

Depends if we are doing fusion or using the potara earrings.

Got smat niu latrell and wiliame as my CTRs.
Got 235k in the bank and 13 trades left.

Any suggestions on what to do?

I don't want to play with 16, so thinking of trading niu up to a better centre but there's no one I really like!

Next few weeks I think we start to see a gulf in those that blew trades early and those that banked. Being able to grab those form players as they come back could mean no lead is really safe

I think this year with everyone having the Luxury of Grant and Koro we are able to spend more money on those other positions when in the past we were pretty much held down to CS9 and Cook and McInness of late if we wanted a hooker averaging 55+

THIS. I think we see a lot of people who have max traded start to slide down the ranks and some who banked a few along the way make a few leaps and Bounds as injuries occur and players start to come back from injury or hit some form.

the problem is that there's fewer rounds and trades, meaning we can't generate enough cash. With cash so limited, most people will be getting guns in positions like 2RF and half where there's 3 and 2 slots compared to only one for hooker.

With less trades, depth is also more important which makes it harder to stack 4 hookers in your team.

shit like this is why I want to hold onto Angus and just pray that none of my other forwards go down (as I have no cover at all bar Carrigan who's now covering Angus), but I worry that if I hold Angus, I'll get burned by everyone who either never had him or sold to another gun.
