If I hadn't just had a couple of pints I doubt I'd have put the C on Cleary.
Wouldn't say I was chasing last weeks score, it was more of a feeling that the Storm will contain Haas and he'll score in the 50's. I guess Cleary is a match up selection, when I don't usually play match ups. Not concerned about Koro not being there, Kenny will just give the ball to Cleary like a good little deputy does, and Cleary has Ash Taylor and Hipgrave to run at (maybe.. Hipgrave had been playing right, but in the training video the titans posted, Proctor was running on the right edge next to Fog)
Cleary is great to watch at the moment. I used to think he was overrated, but he's changed my opinion. Gun footballer.

I know Raiders said they only named Bateman because they don't have 21 fit players, but they could have named absolutely anyone in that slot, including the same 21 as last week.
I think Bateman must be close and we will see some combination of Bateman edge CHN middle or Bateman middle CHN edge
My rationale for Cleary as captain was similar. Edwards had been stealing a few TAs off Cleary in recent weeks (4 TAs in 5 games this season). Aekins is a runner, not a distributor (1 TA in 10 games at fullback).Chewie wrote:
I went with Cleary for similar reasons.... I can see the Storm spread it out wide a lot with Haas not getting a high work rate plus spending a bit of time under the posts.
I didn't want to risk Teddy in the wet weather. Cleary will take the lead especially with Koro and Edwards not there, I expect him to pick up quite a few attacking points + goal kicks. Seems like a safe bet this round...aside from the fact that he's the man of the moment.

Doesn't Bateman being named in 21 because not enough fit players point to Bateman not playing this season still? Surely CHN arrival makes him not playing more likely

Also shows intent that they plan to play himmultiple.scoregasms wrote:
I think if Bateman was still a while off they could have named any not fit player in 21. To me that means Bateman is closer than the others to returning

Says the expectation is that he'll be ready to play with around 4 or 5 games to go. Would put that at round 16 or 17.

White Lightning wrote:I want to see SBW's walk down the main street in Bankstown. If he survives that then he's gtg.

Tbh I'm not a fan of the signing
He won't be a better second rower than Cordner/Crichton, won't be better in the middle than JWH, Tauk, Liu, Collins, Butcher. Aubbo is a much better utility. Will probably end up taking the spot of Tupouniua/Faamausili, which I'm not sure is an upgrade for a 35 year old SBW.
Having him around the squad at training will definitely up the professionalism and help the youngsters, but not sure he helps on the field
