Hey mate, yeah, as Krumpy said, Sportal was having those times whne the forum was down for a week, but then it was out for over a month.chitmunkey wrote:looking forward to another year of fantasy,
PS why did we change forums?
They have also changed hands are now Sports News Australia and they have completely disbanded the forums. They aren't even acknowledged as existing on the new page. You can however still get in there if you have an old link or search NRL Fantasy Part 6 or something like that and it will take you to the old forums. Only Ramesh and Toothy posting on there now!

I woke up this morning to 10 pages and knew something had transpired over night. But when everyone was cheering it was open I couldn't get anything but the register for 2016 page. Turns out I needed to refresh my Bookmarks and now I'm already to go.
Chitmunkey, you'll like it here and the forum actually works.

So aside from the Thursday night comp, there is no Weekly? Very few changes this year both functionally and aesthetically, but they go and take the 1 thing out that everyone feels they have a chance at week in week out even if there overall season is done and dusted.

They should have both, I don't mind the idea of Thursday night comps but there still should be a weekly. I wonder what Supercoach are offering for prizes. Not that it will tempt me because I'm not good enough for any prizes and besides I dislike the scoring system over there.
Fantasy are saying their going "live" this year and to me, I can't see this being a selling point, everyone knows if someone is a late scratching for a game anyway.

Yeah, no probs with the Thursday night comp as an addition. Also can't quite understand why they haven't got an Eliminator by now.bluetige wrote:SI wrote:So aside from the Thursday night comp, there is no Weekly? I'll take a stab that running the comp isn't as lucrative as Fanhub thought and they don't want to fork out for the eliminator or weekly.SI wrote:

I think I did an okay job running the eliminator last year?

Reviewing the teams together.rhinoceroo wrote:My team currently:

DCE, Hastings, Taylor, (JNiko)
Hurrell, Copley, (Auva'a, BHenry)
Gordon, Ferguson, Slater, (Gutherson, Anderson)
+32k. Opinions welcome
Also done a PODtastic team for my son. Looks a bit weird but loaded up on WFBs and 2RFs and are some names in there that nobody seems to be going for.
Segeyaro, (Parcell)
JTrbo, Tamou, (NPR, NPR)
Surgess, Merrin, Taumalolo, Cartwright, SST, (Chee-Kam)
JRey, Hastings, Taylor, (JNiko)
Hurrell, Copley, (Auva'a, BHenry)
RTS, GI, Moylan, (Gutherson, Latrell)
+13k
- Good Hookers, think Peats is better than Lichaa though.
- James Tamou is far too inconsistent for my liking. He was averaging just under 50 minutes last season and was unable to break an average of 40+ points. I don't see that changing at all, no real reason he will get more minutes. Also his average has always been about 40 points over the last 3 years. Definitely worth investing to make him an actual gun, or look for a cash cow. Also not sold on Pauli Pauli, even if he moves to the Knights.
- Taumalolo is in the same position. He wont get an increase in minutes and with the Cowboys pack staying relatively the same his scores wont improve and aren't good enough to warrant gun status. I would look at other guys like the Knights 2RF, Whitehead (If Papalii plays FRF), ah Mau, de Belin to name a few. I can't see Cartwright improving his minutes. With Merrin, Taylor, Peachey, Yeo it wont happen. If Cartwright was a lock for 80 minutes a game he would be great. SST another player who if he could get 80 minutes would be great. But he wont, sadly and makes him someone to avoid.
- Not sold on GI, he can go in and out of games and it reflects in his scores with 3 tries and a score of 90 one week to a score of 20 the next. He averaged just over 40ppg last year and you can expect the same. I would invest in Tedesco or look at other cheap guys. Also Moylan while a great player, his scores don't equate to Fantasy points that much. He should still score solid points (40ppg avg) but guys like Holmes/Gordon/Ferguson/Mansour/Slater have better potential upsides.
(Edit: I do realise you wanted PoD players in the second team. Those just aren't the guys to do it with.)

If you could give me some feedback on my first nights efforts that'd be great.
Seggy, Granville
McGuire, Woods, Jturbo, Pauli
Sburgess, Cooper, Rochow, Tapine, Henry, MCK
DCE, Hastings, Taylor, Nikorima,
Lafia, Copley, Auva'a, Noname Cheapie,
Fergo, Mann, Mansour, L Mitchell, Gutherson
Obviously I've blown almost all of my cap on this team so adjustments will need to be made. Every year I never leave myself enough money and have to put in a lot of work on the trade market to bring my team back to something respectable.
HOK: Great
FRF: Great, though I don't see Pauli Pauli getting the minutes in either the Eels or the Knights packs.
2RF: Very strong.
HLF: Most common group I bet.
CTR: Should be solid expecially if Lafai fires.
WFB: Again common picks but should be good.
It is a good team, the only problem really is Pauli Pauli. That is just personal preference though.
