Roosters can’t really afford to rest players in must win games they play sharks raiders rabbits and knights who are all gunning for that 4th spot, going to be interesting

Is Aubbs still a decent trade in? Is Angus the only person who can take that spot from him? Thinking Randall to Aubbs to have a playing 17

I'm bringing in Fifita, going to be a good buy with a low BE and a game changer for the Broncos having him back.Milchcow wrote:
Talking about Roosters players is all well and good.
But who here us actually trading in David Fifita.
3rd most popular trade in this week, so some of you are doing it.
I was going to bring Taumalolo in this week, but wondering if Fifita is worth it instead. Both have similar BEs.
Whoever I don't get will quite possibly come in for RFM next week
Trending towards Lolo because don't want Fifita to come back underdone and go missing again,
Anyone doing either?

Fifita now gives me the same concerns that I had preseason. I probably wouldn't have started with him if not for all the injuries. I expected that the "best" pack for the Broncos looked something like this
8.Lodge
9.Turpin
10.Haas
11.TPJ
12.Glenn
13.Carrigan
14.Utility
15.Flegler
16.Fifita
17.Ofa
The planned rotation would be TPJ off after 30 minutes, Fifita to edge and TPJ coming back in the middle. This would allow Fifita to come on fresh against tired forwards and be at his destructive best. Now that he has signed for the Titans I think it's even more likely he isn't an 80 minute guy every week
There is also the concerns coming back from injury of being under done.
Personally I'd go with Taumalolo, giving atleast a week to see which Fifita shows up

this is it tbh.
i wouldnt be grabbing fifita if I didnt have a couple of trades up my sleeve.
if its between Lolo and Fifita, Lolo is the obvious choice.
I think the smart play for my own team is probably just to leave go Fifita for now.

The only must win games are finals. Robbo has shown his hand benching Friend with the game on the line numerous times this season to get some big game experience for Verrills/Lam.
If you aren't finishing top 2(which the Roosters won't) it doesn't make a huge difference between coming 3rd and coming 6th. Either way you are having to play 3 games on the way to the grand final

Think Fifita is definitely wait a week and see re minutes, fitness, and whether he's still putting in for the Broncos or one eye on next year.
Would still like him to be my Young upgrade, but about 40K short of making that happen in one trade next week. Would be good if some breakeven roulette could close the gap this week.

There is a massive difference between 3rd/4th and 5th/6th. The biggest positional advantage in the current top 8 system is finishing 4th over 5th. More important than 1st over 4th

Am I cooked or don't the winners of 1v4 and 2v3 get a week off if they win?
Roosters want to shore up a top 4 position, probably #3 to avoid the Panthers

Except for you know all the times that 3rd and 4th place have prevailed in their first finals matches and got the week off. The fact that no team has won from outside the Top 4 in 25 years.
Finishing 3rd or 4th is incredibly important and teams that are fighting off other teams to keep that spot aren't likely to rest huge stars.

Roosters are going to be the first team to ever win the comp from outside the top 4.
In all seriousness, they can lose a game or two and still finish top 4..

I probably misrepresented my point
Robbo would rather win the war(the finals) than the individual battle (single games). If that means dropping a few on the way to be in tip top shape for the finals so be it. Roosters replacements are good enough that resting someone doesn't mean a definite loss so there is still a good chance Roosters end top 4 even with the resting

My 17 looks like this this week. Before TLT I was getting Cleary for Lucy or Pearce. Do I still go through with that, or hold the trades and with with the 17 since a lot will be struggling anyway.
McInnes
Haas Mofo
Tolo Lucy Carrigan
Pearce DCE
Lomax Talau
Teddy Nofo Herbie
Hunt Siro Young Hetherington
Hammer Grant Randall Pappy
294K and 8 trades. Wondering if spending the money on Cleary is still the play this week.

4 trades left, 111k in the bank and rank 221
Hunt
MoFo, Haas
Yeo, Lolo, Luciano
DCE, Cleary
Aubo, Aitken
Paps, Ponga, Teddy
Carrigan, Murray, Siro, McIntyre
Clune, Grant, Fermor, Niu
Going to use Fermor to loop Clune in the off chance he gets a huge score. I have no WFB depth and maybe that comes back to bite me but it's the best I can field.

Are we talking about the same comp here haha, I’m confused.. if roosters finish 5th due to resting it could very well come back to hurt them

MS I'll bet you an avatar and 80 bottles of rum that the chickens don't mass rest so long as they have a chance at finishing 3rd and it's impossible for them to sink to 5th.

Call this 1 bottle of rum and I'll take a legit bet that Teddy, Keary, JWH and Tauk get a rest before the end of the year
