I am sitting 87th overall and 4th in the Storm league so don't want to lose too much ground this week. I am fairly sure I can only field 16... My team is below. Does someone wanna check and make sure there is no possible way I can field 17? unless Randall comes in.

Well, the only way you can field 17 is trading 2 of your red dots and pray Randall gets a bench spot.

    I'd trade Matterson personally.

Yeah no easy fix to get to 17. Since you have to take the hit anyway may as well make the best of the situation

Considering just getting in both Moses + Munster this week. Would leave me with 2 trades left for injuries for the season Razz and 33k left

After this injury week, team ends up as this:

    Grant
    Haas Taukeiaho
    McInnes Taumalolo Yeo
    SJ Munster
    Crichton Aubusson
    Tedesco Ponga Papenhuyzen

    Hunt Carrigan Moses Young

    Rudolf Talau Wiliame Niu

NPRs and 17th aren't the best but it's what I've gotta deal with. 17th man can just be a weekly loop to see who can nab a 40 first. Good enough?

Turns out my Opposition in the eliminator is not only about 7000 ranks higher, but also is relatively unscathed from the slaughter fest.

"Josh Hannay seems to have a pretty positive effect there and especially in one area. It's noticeable that the game of Jason Taumalolo has changed, I think in a really good way, in the last couple of weeks," Sterling said on Sterlo's Wrap.

"Now, Taumalolo is our best forward [in the NRL]; power forward, runs between 200 and 300 metres every week. But I've always felt that there was more to his game.

"Since he moved into the middle, he's got the right-foot step, he comes in and normally takes the first pass from the dummy-half. But why would you have such a quality forward just running at the meat of the defence all the time?

"But here [against Canberra] we can see that he coach has got him playing a little bit wider. John Asiata set him up for a lovely try through the middle, so he's not doing it all himself.

"And I think that Hannay, with maybe a different view with regards to what he wants from his players to what Paul Green did, I think that could be really beneficial to Jason Taumalolo's game because all of a sudden, we might see him used just a little bit differently; up against one and two defenders, instead of just running into four and five."

Niu getting DPP helps with looping for future rounds (need more than 17 players to loop this round)

If I had more than 2 available CTRs Talau's WFB would be nice too

Weirdly I'm contemplating Tevita "6 week suspension" Pangai. He's got a really fantasy friendly game with TBs and offloads, but would be a rollercoaster to own. Or look at Frizell again but he locks out before final teams for Souths
I think Wayne will put Murray in the role of marking David Fifita. Would be a smart move for mine.

Really? That’s 1 extra trade I wasn’t accounting for. Means I will have to use an extra trade… I am on the boat that BA just wanted to give Matterson 1 extra week to make sure he is A OK given his history. He will be back next week.

I am happy to hold Matterson and Smith if it means saving 2 extra trades which I desperately need. I am thinking of Niu > Hynes/Eisenhuth/Hampton and Randall > Starling just to make sure I have a definite 16 this week and take the hit.

About that video re Baptiste challenging Starling makes me think Havili has the 9 roll locked down and Starling/Baptiste challenging for a bench role.

EDIT: Can also go Niu > Hynes and Randall > Moses + 53K to fund a Lucy and Butcher/Young trade next week?

Is Lucy to Taumalolo and Randall to Starling good trades?

We seem to think Starling has good security don’t we? Starling can be my 18th man. Then I have Latrell/Crichton as 19th man with Aubbs at centre. Hammer as 20th man.

I feel squad depth could be important in the run home......

The guy I'm playing in the eliminator is ranked 180 in the fanatics rankings & scored 1104 in round 12. He has a great side & he can field a 17 before trades. We both have 12 players in common. The unique players are:

Me - Paulo, Yeo, DCE, S. Crichton, K. Mann (I'm lucky he's now hooker)
Him - Fotuaika, Bateman, Pearce, Latrell, Koroisau

I have used 1 trade bringing in DCE & he's used no trades. It will be close & before Green went to the Knights imo he had the edge but now it should be closer. I think whoever nails the captain pick will win unless of course we both pick the same captain.

Getting Taumalolo in is a smart move. Randall to Starling is borderline useful or not. Costs a bit of cash to mostly improve depth and not your week to week scoring.
But overall that's a solid team. Have a good scoring 17 when everyone is fit with Sironen and Starling looking like they'll be handy reserves/ loop options (I guess at full fitness you might play one of them over one of your CTR/WFB)

But you can basically sit on that for a while if nobody gets injured.
I guess the only thing is to keep an eye on what Blake Green does to Pearce. If he loses bulk kick metres it might be worth trading to Munster or Moses, but hard to say at this point.

Thanks mate I think I’ll do it. Squad depth will be important in the run home.

I’ll take a look at Pearce this week and I can go to Moses next week if Pearce doesn’t go well.

Rest of my 4 trades if I bring Moses back next week will be for injury cover.
