I've decided that bringing in a depth player isn't worth a quarter of my remaining trades.

I need a frf so I'll trade Lolo to Twal/AFB/Taupau.. next week i'll upgrade another spot in the 17 to Haas.. I'm thinking that using 2 of my last 4 trades (over the next two rounds) may as well be spent on 'top 17' players.

If I were to grab Host/Ofa/Wallace, I'll play them this week, but ideally they won't be in my 17 after that. Of course, its likely that they may be needed, but I already have Siro for that. Neither Host/Ofa/Wallace give me confidence of being more than 30 point scorers after this week anyway, as all have some job security questions around them.

Hoping the two trades remaining beyond that can sneak me through the last 3 rounds, with some assistance from Siro (and maybe HTF returning), without needing another plod FRF down there.

...never know.. maybe Hetho will get a run for the Panthers if they decide to give their starters a week off.

    Klemmer for me.

Twal and McGuire other main considerations, slight concern about coming back from injury and suspension possibility respectively

Tohu made way, either because he was going to get a rest anyway or that's how they adapted on the fly.
Jazz had the HIA at 34 minutes, he was getting extended minutes anyway, nothing to do with the HIA

To get Siro out of my 17 all I really need is no new injuries.

Haas and Mofo will be back next week. Suspension not injury means I can be confident of their return date (training injuries or bubble violations notwithstanding)

And after that my only red dots will be Niu and Hammer. Hammer might even get a run if I want a loop or 20th man)

That's before this week's injuries though

I've got McGuire in for Lolo.
I've gone a bit left field on my second and penultimate trade - with Averillo/HTF out and potentially not getting a look in, I've brought in Brenko for CTR/WFB cover and hopefully he can bang out 40+ as my 17th man this week. Feel I am going to need that cover at some stage.

Looking forward to having Fotuaika and Haas back next week and grateful to have Grant back now.

You can't prove it either way, but I'd be willing to be without the HIA he would have ended up with only 2 stints and wouldn't have started the 2nd half.

Jazz going off for a HIA at the 34th minute and returning at the 40th minute because he passed his HIA test had nothing to do with the HIA.

Sure he had stayed on a big longer in the first stint than previous weeks but you are purely guessing as to whether or not he was going to play bigger mins. As an owner I hope it continues but won't surprise me if he gets the 50 odd min stint this week again.

Depends how long you need the FRF

If it's just this week covering Mofo I would go with Smith + Host. Smith should out score Matterson on the run home (bit of recency bias this week after he had a big game).
If you think you will need the FRF for more than 1 week I'd probably go with Ofa/Wallace. While Host/Ofa/Wallace should score in a similar range this week, Ofa is probably most likely to keep the scores up until the end of the year, followed by Wallace, with Host having a very short shelf life (should be back to the bench next week when Fuimaono is back and possibly out of the 17 when Vaughan is back)

I very much want this to be right, but is this the general consensus?

I can trade Lolo to a FRF but I’ll still have 16 this week so will just grab a player I actually want and then Haas and Mofo slot back in next week

He hasn't played a 34 minute half in any of his limited minutes games this season. It was back to his role from last season.

Dont be silly, he had already played 34 minutes for the only time this season. The HIA had nothing to do with him getting big minutes, was clearly the game plan all along.

Or the gameplan was for him to play more minutes up front and fewer in his second stint?

Tevaga minutes and length of first stint this season:
    Rd 11 - 50 minutes, 27 minutes 1st half
    Rd 12 - 51 minutes, 29 minutes 1st half
    Rd 13 - 50 minutes, 31 minutes 1st half
    Rd 14 - 38 minutes, 23 minutes 1st half
Rd 15 - 59 minutes, 34 minutes 1st half (HIA affected, could potentially have been longer)

There is a clear correlation between 1st half minutes and total minutes in each game.

Last season Tevaga had 3 games at lock averaging 50 minutes, by then he had built up his fitness to play an average of 70 minutes the rest of the season. When playing big minute games, he was also playing big minutes in the first half. We are seeing the start of that this season last round.
