543/9 with only 16 players playing this week. Hopefully Captain Cleary has a big one tonight.

Thats kind of sad tbh
I enjoy watching league. If its a neutral game then i want to see a good contest.
I dont really get the "hate" though. Always thought it was funny how rugby league fans of one team think they are different from rugby league fans of another team. Its all the same shit. We're here for the same reason, just a different bunch of athletes that we dont know personally and decide we support.
I dare u to quote this around origin time.....

9/566 hard to gauge that with Captain Moses and a Herbie forgot his banana's thrown in.

573/9c. Includes Herbie's 11 and Talau and Randall to come so whilst 17 players, feels like 15. Not sure how that will rate this week. Kapow my biggest POD left so a ceiling game from him this week would be great.

Great article from 2018 explaining how the Broncos are fundamentally fucked and it was a matter of time. Now it's actually happened. They have scholarships to something like 400 prospective young footy players. Compare that to the Raiders who have around 30. The Raiders can actually train these 30 young blokes (Papalii and a couple others were poached from Logan or something) and integrate them within the 1st and 2nd grade trainings to develop their skills. Compare that with the 400 or so Broncos "up and comers" who don't get any opportunity to really be comprehensibly tested and developed. Factor in a nearly new rosters completely made up of these blokes and this is what you get.
The good thing is that they're going to completely tear it down. This one journo reckons this issue is why they've been hovering around 8th or whatever for a while now. Fundamental issues that aren't resulting in terrible consequences so they never come to light. Now they can completely restructure the club and address these issues, and in 5 years be a really good team.
TBH I don't believe you can pin the Bronco's current predicament on their development pathways.
If anything, I would suggest most clubs would envy the level of young talent that the Bronco's have had available over the last year or two.
The issue to my mind, is more related to organisational/back-office issues, coaching fit, injuries and roster management (particularly with retirements and gradually bringing players on).
If you took any NRL team and put in that level of inexperience (particularly in the forwards) and they would struggle, let alone with a particularly high injury toll.
Even the dynastic Roosters managed to finish 15th back in 2016 largely due to a particularly heavy injury toll in key positions (the following year they finished 2nd in the regular season).
It's funny, I used to find it frustrating how slowly Wayne Bennett would bring young players through (from a fantasy squad perspective), often giving them limited minutes and limited appearances, but I think this year has provided some of evidence of the pitfalls of putting young talent in a position that they simply don't have the experience, or the experience around them to handle in high pressure situations.
I would also suggest that the Raiders by comparison really don't have a high proportion of locally developed talent in their top 17, and have very much benefited from recruitment (particularly from the UK).
Wow, I never thought I would defend the Broncos...

Aloiai's out because his wife just gave birth, which is annoying but at least he should be back next week.
Would've been nicer if she gave birth in a week where I didn't have 2 other props out.

That's great news for Aloiai but not for you mate. Very unlucky. Why can't these league players plan pregnancies for the off season haha.

On the Broncos as a Warriors supporter I'm just glad there's teams that are shittier than the Warriors for once. Also I'm joking but Payne Haas was on the Warriors books when he was 15 (that's not a joke) & the Broncos came in with their money & signed him so this could be karma (this is where I'm joking).

Btw for those wondering like I was, Haas will be playing next week. Broncos coach in the press conference said he came back in late last week and will play next week

Watching the Broncos last night reminds me of playing five a side against a team of very young skilful dudes. They are all good players but haven’t figured out how to play as a team or to the game conditions yet so they get spanked by a bunch of 45 year olds. When they get to 25 they are a bit smarter and know how to use their speed and skill to their own advantage and easily beat the 45 year olds (me).
The Broncs all play like 18 year olds. They haven’t retained the right senior players (Boyd?????) and guys like Carrigan are having way too much pressure placed on them. This is not the teams fault by any stretch of the imagination. People on here sometimes question why guys like Isaac Lui or James Tamou get a run week in, week out (mainly cause they aren’t NRLF relevant). They may not be flash but can follow the coaches instructions and have played enough to know what to do in any situation. The broncos don’t have any of these guys.

463/7c including Friend.
Planning on trading someone in as my 17th player if Randall scores low off the bench.

As well as obvious issues in the halves, I think the Broncos are also missing Matt Gillett - he was a great 1on1 defender and a lot of the Broncos problems are stemming from soft defence in the forwards

Was worried about having to play Clune, Fermor and Sironen this week. Low score of 43 from them.
A surprise to be sure but a welcome one.

Having Talau in my team is not good because if Farnworth can only score 11 vs the Roosters then Talau will score 5 against the Panthers lol. Currently 442/7 Cleary (c).

I may have to bite the bullet on getting a good scoring CTR in, I can't rely on Herbie to come up with the goods on the wing next to Staggs.
I'm glad Fogarty got some "junk points" in the final 10mins, his score wasn't looking great up until that point.
SST deserved a rest, I would have preferred Robbo to rest him a full game though and give me some notice.
