If rumours of 550k a year are true that's not terrible money for a rep quality winger. Probably about 50-100k per season too much but it's not like paying Mbye or Dugan 900k to play centre

The decision to abandon the case followed the Magistrate’s ruling that by placing Curtis #Scott in hand cuffs they had arrested him, despite the fact he was barely conscious.
    @9NewsSyd

    lol. bizarre.

Have some views on this that I probably shouldn't share here. Not surprised Scott got off and will leave it at that.

I'm guessing a deal was made along the lines of "Don't sue us for wrongful arrest and we'll drop the charges".

Went through something similar in my early 20s (was involved in the incident but wasn't the one arrested) and after thousands spent on lawyers fees, the police offered pretty much that deal.

Would suck for people who don't have the money.

Just thinking Pappy out for Peachey via Lomax or RTS perhaps?  No options to trade Lucy or Siro for without double trading though.  Hunt to Cook was the other thing I was thinking of.
I would be very tempted to bring in RTS mate. You have enough trades to do it. Playing 3 games and Pappy only 2 RTS will outscore him in the run home.

AJ about to re-sign with Souths til end of 2022. He could’ve had an extra 100k a season to play with the Storm but has rejected that to stay loyal to Souths who he wants to stay with the rest of his career.

    Great news for us.

Thanks mate. Yeah, was thinking Peachey but starting to warm to RTS. He's been on fire.

Is anyone else in strife this week? I am fielding 16 it seems:

Ponga, Pap, Randall and Niu out.

    McInnes
    Haas MoFo
    Lucy Matterson Murray
    Cleary Pearce
    Crichton Peachey
    Teddy Hammer

    Hunt Carrigan Taupau Siro
    Koala Ponga Pap Randall Niu

Should I use my last trade and 145k spare? Thoughts?

If Teddy is out I’m playing with 15.

Have you got anyone else you can sell to a cheap WFB to cover for a week? Hoy could be a decent one as he's a handcuff for Ponga.

I have Randall or Niu essentially. Could maybe sell Joliffe and get one but still probably won't get anyone decent so might sell one of the first 2 to grab a cheapie.

Same decision for me I think, Luai out for one of these two. Think I'm leaning to Brimson

What would your trade be if you did it this week?

I've been trying to work through the maths of using a last trade to field 17 this week (likely Butcher to Peachey) or saving the trade for next week (e.g. Butcher to Matterson, or otherwise whatever injured/rested player needs replacing).

It's a lot of guesswork but its basically coming out even, which is absolutely no help.

Getting a dual WFB/Centre might be better so I can cover for both but Hoy might be the way to go.

Is Hammer or Averillo the better pick this week? Can't play silly buggers and see what Averillo scores before making the decision, so have to choose one.

Also - Trade Pappy to RTS (and probably not bring Pappy back)?

or trade Lucy to RTS and have a decent WFB as 18th man for the rest of the year?

Yeah not a bad shout. Thought having some money aside for the final 2 trades would be nice, but probably better to use some of that coin now.

Why not just trade in a better player from the start?

You didn't list your CTRs, do you have decent ones?

Talked me into it. And whoops! I have Ramien and Pompey, so nothing flash. Pompey can drop back to WFB if needed?

If you want to trade out Young bring in someone of a similar price range.
Couldn't see anyone 2RFs I liked in his price range, but hadn't thought about a different position.

Thanks for the food for thought team. Sorry about the late replies, have been flat out at work today!
