They don't need to have played centre. In the last 5 years Michael Morgan, Tom Trbojevic, Jack Wighton, Josh Dugan, Jarryd Hayne and Dylan Walker have all played centre in origin while being preferred in other positions at club level.

Mann has been solid enough defensively this year in his time at 6 which is only 1 position further in. Brimson is an elite attacking talent in the mold of Tommy T. Brimson also leads all fullbacks in tackle efficiency at 91%, while the rest are in the range of 70-85%. He can make tackles when he needs to

Oh for sure. I don't have a problem with them defensively, I was more commenting on your comment that we shouldnt be finding positions for players, rather put players in their position, but then used Brimson and Mann as an option for CTR. When it comes to them attacking the line and Cleary puts a kick in for Tupou, Turbo, Wighton I think we will get out jumped 9/10 times. Just IMO.

I agree. I just think we need some height. I look at that 2-5 and almost vomit thinking about
    Holmes/Gagai v Fox/Tupou/Cotric/Turbo/Fergo
Morgan/Capewell v Staggs/Wighton/Jmoz/Lomax/Latrell (who i think will be there if fit and healthy)

I don't mind this approach either - NSW did this with Turbo and Wighton, Morgan has been ok at CTR for Qld. Personally haven't seen enough of Brimson to judge how he'd go, Mann I think would be solid although I suspect he's battling Hunt for #14.

They're all favourites for a reason, but Sea Eagles at 1.37 seems very short against an in-form Titans team (paying 3.10). I guess a Tommy Turbo bounce?

Hard to see where else an upset might come from.

It's pretty much all top 8 vs bottom 8 aside from Manly vs Titans and Roosters vs Sharks, so doesn't loom as a particularly competitive round.

What's the most likely upset? Would the Titans beating Manly even be an upset on recent form? Maybe the Panthers get a little complacent against the Cowboys at home? Hard to bet against the favourites this round.

That's because the tide has turned and the talent has swung back to NSW

QLD no longer have the two best centres in the comp (Inglis and Hodges) with Tate being a defensive beast and metre eater on the wing

There are no ready made replacements to step into the centre to contain the likes of Staggs and Wighton, which is why I would throw to the most talented options in Mann and Brimson

I have 15 players this week. I'm probably pretty screwed, I wonder if should play it safe with Captain Cleary or just captain someone else and concede defeat on the season.

McInnes, DCE, Hunt, Ponga all options.

I’ve just changed my Captain from Cleary to McInnes. I have to much concern re Cleary getting an early shower.

That and the travel to Townsville is what is scaring me off captaining Cleary.

I'm on Captain Wighton because Teddy last week wasn't risky enough Very Happy It's one of the riskiest captains I can remember picking but I feel my team is so heavily outgunned by other teams on here that I have to do it to even have a chance at holding my rank or getting back into the top 2000

Wighton is the main point of attack for his team, and they've got a top four spot to fight for, and they're up against the Warriors who have nothing left to play for.

Plus, he's served me well for most of last year and half of this year, so I'm willing to back my boy for a big score.

Possible rain in Sydney is putting me off D(C)E. I'd want a high scoring game if I captain him. Also, just had a look and his last four scores against the Titans are 42 (2019), 91 (2018), 43 (2018), and 47(2017). All 80 min games. Three 40s is a bit concerning.

CM9 will rack up the tackles on Old Boy's Day against the Knights surely.

Another point in (C)M9's favour: charging home on Sunday with Lomax, Hunt, Ponga, and captain McInness in the last game and a loop to be added.

I think Manly probably win well. Turbo back will lift everyone around him, especially being their final home game at Brooky for the year, bit of pride on the line.

Titans have been going well but they'd be at risk of having a down game.

Not a fan of morgan in the centers. I like capewell there and could have a utility back on the bench, with the ability to move capewell to 2nd row if one of them goes down.
