Are you able to buy referees jerseys?
I’m sure mattnz would love one, maybe rabbits, honeysett and a few others as well.

Also love seeing him with a premiership ring on his finger, Clive Churchill medal around his neck and about to be in a sky blue jersey.

The calls in the second half evened it out mate.mattnz wrote:

Yes I strongly dislike the Storm but I rather them being premiers over the Rorters.
The better team won tonight mate.
I have to congratulate the Storm they deserve it and they’ve been away from home for so long so credit to them for that and the sacrifice they made to keep the comp going.
Thanks to the Warriors as well for doing the same, they haven’t been forgotten.
They got the CC medal right as well Pap was best on ground and that try was just insanely brilliant.

Just go tback from watching at a friend's place.
I thought the vide ref was fin eon the try/no try decisions
On the panthers first try, Yeo started to kick before he went behind the player, but didn't finish the kick until after he'd gone behind him. Don't think it was the worst call.
Panthers got a bit of bad luck with some knock on calls but a lot of it was just bad luck and their mistakes. They were probably the better team until the Vunivalu intercept but then lost their shit for 20 minutes and threw away the game
Storm weren't even that good, just there to capitalise on Penrith's mistakes. But their ability to be clinical when required is why they've been at the top for so long.
If Storm had conceded a try on the last play with 11 players on the field, I would be laughing at them all the way into next season

Mad respect mate, I'm so stoked. That last 10 minutes had me shitting bricks and yeah the ref calls definitely evened out in the second half. I was stoked to see Papy get the CC medal, he was deadset the best on ground, though I think Vuni would have been a decent shout for it, his intercept won us the game right there.

Here is that try from Pap again I couldn’t help but watch it again as a lover of Rugby League like this is so clutch in a big game. For mine this was the highlight of the game for me the play of the game.
Enjoy the celebrations and get your hands on some premiership Beth I would if it was me, in fact if it was my team that just won I wouldn’t be in bed til 5am tomorrow morning I’d just be watching it back again and again on repeat.
I am just relieved we can say the reigning premiers are no longer the Rorters.
NAS also had a cracker such strong carries.

Nice summary Milch!
I agree with Penrith having the better of the game for the most of it, the Storm just know how to maximize points. Some soft calls by the ref, some silly mistakes by the Panthers.
Bummer the couldn't finish a stellar season with the win.

Yeah, so glad the Rorters are no longer the prems. Part of me wishes they'd beaten Penrith in week 1 so we could have had a shot at beating them in this year's GF, that would have been sweet justice for 2018
That said, I will definitely be up for a while tonight, most likely going to watch the fox replay. I just had a nice big victory maccas feed

At 7pm I realised the game wasn’t on Kayo (and I could’ve cancelled my sub a week ago).
The Ch9 commentators are the worst, I couldn’t imagine more complaining about refs until I went back and read this thread hahaha. I did enjoy the coaches box cameras though - Bellamy is even more mental than I imagined.
In terms of the big calls, I thought they got them all right?
May was getting his legs under the ball first IMO, tackling a secondary concern for him. Seen them go the other way, but I thought it was fine.
Crichton no try was textbook the way they call them now.
Panthers first try - You wouldn’t know it from Gould and Johns, but where the fuck was the obstruction? Yeah, Yeo kicked the ball behind a player but nobody made a defensive decision based on that. And the commentators saying he kicked it away because he knew he’d obstructed was lol. He was already kicking it because Addo-Carr had charged about 15m up and in. Mahoney got them the same way in the first week of the finals.
Hughes sin bin- marginal, but if he keeps tracking the ball he moves left, he stops and moves slightly right.
The only bad call was Kikau knock on first half, and those regrettably happen.
Hopefully the storm get fined for trainers jumping in to kill a teams momentum again.
Anyway weird game as it was the closest half I’ve ever seen finish 22-0. Then the Panthers played trash for 20 before coming in late. Cleary with the classic junk try to get me into the top 10 for NRL finals fantasy. Congrats to WL there

Could be worse for the Panthers, I won 18 in a row before losing my dynasty Nearly Sport GF.

Cam Smith will never be considered the GOAT, he's been in premiership winning sides and he's NEVER been the best player.
Enjoy it Storm fans, no one recognises you as legitimate champions because you've got a history of cheating. May as well call you The Patriots.

This year taught us a few things.
1, Well done to old mate for setting the standard and getting the NRL, and therefore all Aussie sports, off the ground in the hardest of times.
2, Sutton as refs boss needs to go. The fact the best refs don't get a look in is insane (Chechin/Badge)
3, 6 again rule is great for the game, now we need to build on it. If you give away a deliberate penalty when it's 6 again sin bin them. It'll stop it really quick.
4, Buzz and his crisis merchant cunts at the Daily Telegraph are responsible for most of what's bad about RL. If they didn't whinge about the crackdown on penalties we would have a nice open flowing game by now, instead we have the Storm strangling the game into submission.
5/ When the refs let the guys play we actually get to enjoy the sport.
6/ Sutton legit has zero clue, facts say he is the worst ref when it comes to decisions he makes for tries/challenges - why is he still there? Convenient he was also at Cam Smith's wedding..

"The refs cost Panthers the game"
Olam try: Koroisau error previous set, May causing penalty try
Vunivalu try: Intercepted Cleary pass
Smith try: Koroisau knocking ball out
Papenhuyzen try: Leota error causing scrum

Stat I just saw that bears repeating.
Brisbane's NRLW team won more games than the men's team in 2020.
The women's team played 4 games this year

2 more points
Kikau had a shocker last night. Panthers chucked everything through him and he dropepd the ball/pushed silly passes a lot.
WL dominated me so badly in finals fantasy that he had a better score than me even if he'd forgotten to submit a team for the GF yesterday. Congrats on the win
